Did he tweet any of the prices of the wares available at the local bakery stores? Yeah funny how he has got a clever answer for alcoholic beverages yet can't seem to apply the same logic to the tea and pastry situation. Good luck to him finding somewhere else in the area offering sausage rolls for over £4! I agree, very dangerous territory to justify pricing....

Pint doesn't bother me. Price doesn't really bother me a great deal although I did feel a 33% increase in one go was steep on the hot/cold drinks. A drinks dispenser instead of a can is a good idea though. It was more about the service than the prices to be fair and just after we have sold our top striker. I appreciate that the extra money is useful to go towards new signings. I just hope we do see that. I also hope we improve the service for the next home game and beyond.

What stadiums is he comparing those prices with? Old Trafford? I'd be interested to know how much Accrington's catering costs as their stadium would be the most direct comparison with ours...

Good luck to him finding somewhere else in the area offering sausage rolls for over £4! true, but he is comparing it to other football clubs (bearing in mind there is a £3 option) where you would presumably have to pay at an away game.
At least he is responding to the questions. People can still think it's a rip-off and not buy, but at least he is explaining their reasoning and communicating with the fans on the issues. He could just ignore it and get called all sorts

Yeah he has at least explained the reasoning - I agree with using local bars as a comparison for alcohol and £4 is about what you would expect where-ever you go. Maybe the club could try and entice people out of the pubs more with a price of £3.50 or £3.75 but at least you know at £4 you aren't being ripped off. The catering is a different matter because even with the justification it is hard not to see those prices as extreme even if the claim is that it's a quality product. Again for me it is about what kind of audience they want in the ground: do football fans really want a premium quality sausage roll? Perhaps judging by previous complaints about catering they do and they will pay, we will have to see. All i can say on the subject of comparisons is that Dover's double bacon burger at £5.00 odd a throw leaves our offering leaving a lot to be desired. Although in fairness that cuts both ways as the catering at Molineux last season was both over priced and absolutely disgusting.

I can understand a good pint being similar price to local pubs, but once in the ground you really are captive to non-alcoholic drinks and food, especially when with kids and evening games when many have rushed from work and do need to eat. Sure tea/coffee was 1.30 until recently, then went to £1.50 last season. Now 2. Coffee is awful. Tea is weak. Cannot be compared to a relaxing freshly made real coffee in a cafe or even a decent takeaway. And some nice bribery that all money goes to playing budget. Yeah. Its our fault once again. The fans.

Reap what you sow, pretty much. If you want professionalism it is going to cost you because Rovers are soon going to be packaged as an aspirational brand that only the prawn sandwich brigade can afford. The problem TG has though is that you can't build an aspirational brand around a stadium that our neighbours fondly refer to as 'Chernobyl'. Still I'm sure many will be over the moon because along with the likes of Keith Brookman leaving fans being priced out of the game shows we are moving in the right direction in accordance with how teams at the top of the premier league operate. Clubs such as Burton, Scunthorpe and Fleetwood are professionally run on lower crowds. It’s not unreasonable to expect background improvements from the state we were in without prices being so extortionate. To suggest fans who welcomed improvement are reaping what they sow is really unfair imo. O think you are both right in many ways - maybe just the wording isn't quite right for you to easily agree with each other. This professionalism argument is a real distraction. Life is far more grey than a simple black and white thinking. Some people can be professional, and nice, and gentlemanly, and collaborative. Others don't have hardly any of those skills. Most of course will have some of the positive attributes but not all. I love rovers but sometimes I think k we do get above our station. We should not look down at well run smallish clubs, with nice but small stadiums, who still run themselves with good conduct, including using volunteers, fans & locals. We should look at them, and maybe see if we can run professional and small/ medium sized.

The simple fact is, if you think its to expensive, fine , don't buy them and the club will soon understand that the price is set to high. Its called supply & Demand But going by the lines waiting for food on Saturday, people are happy to pay That is the simple black and white of it, Henbury. That is why we have to pay £39 for a bit of polyester, £4 for a sausage roll and £22 for a ticket. All outrageous prices and unthinkable a few years ago, but if the people are willing to pay those amounts, they will price them accordingly. I think it's all disgusting, but that must just be me. And yes I know season tickets are cheaper, but not all of us can get to every game if we live a long way away and work on Saturdays.
