I don't believe DC is frustrated with the Board I really believe that he is frustrated with the Div 1 setup/agents etc. Of course Harrison was going to go to a Championship team if they wanted him. Better wages, higher league football would turn anyones head. I'm sure DC or the Board wanted to sell him but once Ipswich made an offer (and for that also read Bodin and PNE, Snake and the Trash) their heart and soul wouldn't be in it playing for a team one division lower. This league has to be the most difficult. The Championship will always steal our best players. We have no threat from the Premiership because they are only interested in foreign players but for the Championship Div 1 is their main hunting ground. We don't have a bottomless pit of money so knowing that players want to leave then the second best option is to try to get as much money as possible for them. We are in Catch 22 territory. Until we can get into the Championship we will never keep our best players but we will struggle to get into the Championship without our best players!! DC, the Board, the Fans, the boards and fans of every Div 1 club....all of us are frustrated with this situation but that's the way it is. Bloody annoying I know but all we can do is get behind what we have and support them to the hilt. Far too many 'glass half empty' people on this forum. Hopefully they are a minority. COYB UTG.

You mean keep a sense of perspective? Good luck with that around here! People moan on and on that the mem is a dump, the club try and improve the facilities and spend some money on doing it up a bit. Now people moan that they have to pay an extra 50p for a cup of tea! We get thrashed by Exeter in a pretty insignificant preseason friendly. Suddenly were relegation fodder and the loss of Ellis (who by the way only 12 months ago was being touted as a waste of wages by many) and lack of any instant replacement within less than 7 days is a sign that the club is going down the pan etc etc. It's hardly the first time we've had a beating from a lower league club is it, so get over it all you doomsayers and keep the faith. UTG! The new stands are self funding. Revenue from the actual tickets to sit in them coupled with sponsorship means they are not costing the club money. What people are rightly watered off about is that we are being asked to invest more of our money while Hani keeps his hands in his pockets. You don't charge top dollar for a 2 bit product. The club would do well to understand that good will is starting to be stretched. Good will? Err don't quite understand you there. The football club is a business, it's not a charity. We are not being run by rosy faced lady garden with more money than sense like them lot down the road. Just because we are Bristol Rovers it does not make us entitled to have money thrown around. The new owners said they were going to grow the club in a sustainable way, this is what that means. I don't understand why people think the owners should have to subsidise the club, this doesn't happen in other businesses does it? Even with these price increases I would respectfully suggest that the club are not exactly charging "top dollar". In terms of the product being offered, the main thing we are buying here is entertainment, do you not think that back to back promotions and holding our own in league 1 for the last 2 seasons is more than a "2 bit" product? The season hasn't even started yet and people are moaning. Every time I come on this forum at the moment all I read is moaning and posts full of discontent. It's frustrating tbh. If people are unhappy with the services on offer on a match day then exercise your choice to do something else, if you don't like the prices they are charging or the quality of the products on offer then do what I do, eat/drink your own food or go somewhere else before/after the game. But in terms of the football, why can't people just reserve judgment until after the season has started when the really important business has got underway. Just because we got thrashed by Exeter it does not mean that the sky is falling and we are doomed for goodness sake. UTG!

Mathews is the one I'm most looking forward to this season. It was only about 5 years ago Manchester United were trying to sign the kid, so he must have something about him. Bournemouth reluctantly released him for the sake of his career and I think he could have an impact this season and we may struggle to keep hold of him sooner rather than later. Hes got nice balance and a good left foot, similar on first viewing to kyle bennett. I think he will be a sub at peterbro though but rodman and upson will start. Upsin was very good yesterday , in fact all the new signing were.

Sums up a lot of what is wrong with society everyone wants instant Gratification and has no patientce

I hate friendlies really because they always give false hope/hate, they should all be closed door training sessions if they're going wind people up this much.

Our bigget assett is the fanbase and we have seen a big rise in attendances. That could easily be lost so we need something to get behind I don't know if this is true, or not, but someone told me that season tickets are down and there are 2 boxes empty. I don't know if this is true or not. I do know the advertising at the Mem has shot up in price because I asked about having a pitch side sign

I agree, but let's give them chance, Ellis only just went and DC said it happened quickly. DC always plays games during the interviews and won't want to give anything away, to agents, clubs and players. Did he not say we wouldn't sell the snake for millions?? We can see they are improving the back room staff etc. Just paid a fee for the new left back, who will hopefully make a difference. Next few weeks are vital now. If we sign 2 decent strikers, think the majority, will be happy for now. Stadium etc will take longer. But why employ a new CEO etc, if he is going to have nothing to do?? Maybe they just can't talk about it at the moment. Why appoint a head of recruitment, if we are not going to spend any money? We spent over £300,000 on Nichols. Which was more than we sold the snake for. If nothing happens over the next few weeks,I will be the first to moan. that's probably why we have a Head of recruitment. To try and stop spending money on crap

We must remember the owners have backed the manager. They allowed him to pay fees for nichols and sercombe. They financed bringing in craig and bennett in january. They funded bringing in experienced players upson and rodman this summer. All those players will be on good salaries and 2 of them cost transfer fees as well. Its not all good but its not all bad either surely? You mean keep a sense of perspective? Good luck with that around here! People moan on and on that the mem is a dump, the club try and improve the facilities and spend some money on doing it up a bit. Now people moan that they have to pay an extra 50p for a cup of tea! UTG! We should not be operating with 3 strikers and a loan as last season. At a minimum we should have 4 good strikers. We have too many midfielders and defenders (I'm not saying that they are any good or otherwise)

The window is still open, I have faith that DC will bring in a couple of strikers, after all DC does not play defensive football, he's hardly going to want to be left with Mensah and Nichols up front is he?! In terms of the midfielders and defenders, I don't agree, imo we have enough in midfield but I still think we need another left back as cover.

Marcus also told Ellis Ipswich was a good move for him. Has he got something against us?? (Joking obviously).
