The head of recruitment will not pick the player's. He was recemmended by Marcus anyway, so DC trusted his assistant as he was at Exeter with him. Marcus also told Ellis Ipswich was a good move for him. Has he got something against us?? (Joking obviously). A secret shithead? He did support them lol. Nichols was highly rated at Exeter though and I think we can all see Ipswich is a step up from us at the moment. Think he recommended Sercombe as well though, which was a good signing.

that's probably why we have a Head of recruitment. To try and stop spending money on crap The head of recruitment will not pick the player's. Are you sure about that as the impression both TW & DC have given is that he's a typical Chief Scout going out and looking at players, with assistance from his scouts, then recommending players to DC.

If we don't sign at least one number 9 who can score 10 to 15 goals then it's likely to be a lower half finish possibly even a bit of a relegation scrap.

Will probably have to wait until Thursday as well.
I see Ipswich are after another striker after signing Ellis, not letting another player leave until they have signed the replacement.
We do things a bit backwards.

We do things a bit backwards. Other clubs in the lower divisions will be well aware that we are desperate for a striker, therefore, prices will go up whenever we inquire about one. Three strikers out, one striker in. I'm no Einstein, but even I can see that there is something wrong with that formula. Still hoping though. After all, that's all we've got as Rovers fans, hope.

We do things a bit backwards. They obviously have the spare capital that they don't need the outgoing player to fund the incoming one. If the deal for an outgoing player breaks down we would be stuck without a fee and with their wages still on our books after paying out for the incoming one. Mind you given how excellent we are at getting rid of our best players hell will freeze over before we fail to get a player out of the door.

Obviously he will have an input. But DC will make the final decision. Expect it will work both ways. DC will say I'm interested in this player, then Tommy will look into him further. Plus Tommy will recommend players to DC. DC will have the deciding say though.

My reading is that DC will give a brief of the position and type of player he needs, TW will then use his contacts to draw up a shortlist of possible players and then DC will have the final say on which, if any, he wants to pursue. Agree about the recommendations aspect too.
