I've always maintained JC is a solid pro and did well for us in non-league and League Two, but isn't League One quality.Who is in that team at the moment ?

With three full backs injured/recovering JC has had to fill in there and not at centre half his normal role.
Like Broadbent has had good and bad games but with constant changing of role or in/out of the team it's no wonder they struggle at times as they lack experience at this level.
We need a tall street-wise centre half who can lead/organise in on a short term basis to get us out of this mess.

I couldn’t go last night so didn’t see it but it sounds like JC had a poor game. However he has been one of our better players so far this season - especially as he has been moved around 3 positions to fill in gaps. He’s not the best player in the world but I think we have bigger problems than one player. No goalscorers, poor ball retention in the middle, lack of creativity, and a dominant centre back are bigger priorities for me. If he plays on Saturday I think he’d be ok based on his general form so far.

One of the better performers so far this season but one of the worst defensive performances from a full back I can remember last night. Beaten every single time by his man, hugely at fault for the opening two goals which went some way to ensuring we lost the game. Should have been taken off after 15 mins for me. Who comes on in his place, god knows!

JC's problem is lack of pace but although not his best game last night I still believe he can do a job for us. Our problem is injuries at the moment. Partington, Sinclair, Holmes-Dennis, Sercombe......all game changers or people who can bind the team together (Sinclair). Through necessity we are playing people out of position but hopefully we can get everyone fit and turn it around in the near future. What we don't need is the foul mouthed belters hurling abuse at Smith (within earshot of him) who I know is not the best but all footballers work on confidence. The guy shouting in front of me is entitled to his opinion except for the fact that once you removed the swear words from his tirade there wasn't enough of the English language left to make an opinion. Being a supporter is like a marriage...for better or for worse, etc. Let's get behind the team not slag them off. Fortunately 99% of the fans did last night. Yes we moan when it goes wrong or a shot misses but the support was superb last night. Belters, if you really don't like what you see.....don't look at it. DC hasn't let us down before and he is not about to now. He could see what we could see and will do everything in his power to turn it around. COYB UTG.

A good squad player for sure. I think his best position is as one of a back three, a formation (with wing backs) that DC used to use a lot then suddenly stopped last season. I wasn't a big fan of that formation but I was calling for a return to it last season in hope it might have stopped some of the goals. Problem is now, we don't have anyone decent to play wing back anymore.

James Clarke is predominantly a centre half, not a RB. He might do a job there against a slower winger, but up against anyone with an electric pace and he will struggle. Last night he was torn a new one because the player he was up against was probably 2 seconds quicker over 60 meters. That will gain you 2-3 yards space easily.
Its all about playing players in their rightful position. Kelly, although didn't pull up any trees last night, and did look a bit green at LB, was a much better option than Craig, because Kelly with his young legs and being a full back did more in 10 mins than Craig did in 95 on saturday. Kelly should also start this saturday.
We shouldn't be afraid to use the U23's if we need one in an outright position. But DC would rather play a seasoned pro out of position, and it costs us time and again.
Broadbent isn't a RB, but when he came on, thats where he was positioned. He was all at sea and no better than Clarke.
Our subs bench should have 1 GK, 1 CB, 1 FB/WB, 1 MF 1 CF as an absolute minimum to cover all eventuality and then have 1 luxury sub as an addition.

Although you'd think the likes of Craig and Lockyer would have made that call on the pitch during the game.
