Recall going to places like Braintree and Alfreton when we were at our lowest.To-day I feel just as delated about BRFC the way things are going. The utterance by Mr Wael about not being able to say anything 'Due to a Confidentiality Clause' did suggest something must be happening but I no longer suspect it is.12 months ago we played really well at Molineux with Bola excelling and Nichols looking disinterested.Sercombe made a worldly I remember. Signing someone who can't get into Stevenage's side reminds me of loaning Guy Branston from 92 nd placed Aldershot when we were 91st.If we lose Sat, loan window is closed so we will have to make do.Wael can't afford much it seems so paying DC off isn't really an option.Worrying times with injuries mounting but our mediocre displays thus far are more than concerning even for the Rose Tinters.

I guess another problem DC now has - if he plays THD the club have to pay Huddersfield every time he makes an appearance.
No, we pay him every time he plays, thats what I thought?
No, it was the transfer fee not THD's wages. "It's a player who went for a lot of money and we've been fortunate that we've got him on an appearance-based transfer fee, which is good, so he's got to be playing, and it's only a small fee as well "

Putting aside whether he is any use to us or not for a moment, if you are Stevenage in the league below ours you have got to be pretty happy that you have got a guy who can't even get on the bench off the wage bill. That should give us pause for thought before anything else. Bit Like Dom Telford last season On a few Penny's at Stoke Highly rated by everybody on here, played very little 1st team football ended up at Bury...

So don't play him, simples.

Personally I think we should have persevered with Kelly. He has done ok with his 2 appearances and he can only get better. Joe Martin is not going to improve. I'm beginning to think it is a waste of time having a development squad. For DC it is ok to play them in cup games, mainly because he is not bothered about cup games as our FA cup record proves. Other than that then none of them step up and play regulary, and so, why do we have a development when we can sign any journeyman at the drop of a hat. Has DC ever promoted anybody from the development/youth sides to 1st team regular ? Can't think of any Possibly Broadbent? Russe & Kelly are regular 1st team squad members, not sure any other player is really up be being a 1st team squad member?

I mean no disrespect to Joe Martin, but to sign a Div 2 player who cannot get a game at his parent club, when we have aspirations to be a top six club in Div 1....well, it just ain't going to happen is it. I'm pretty sure that Joe was not in Tommy Widdrington'e Little Black Book of potential signings, so what is the point of having Tommy? Do we really need a Head of Recruitment when we have to shop in a Food Bank?
It must be difficult for DC to lift the players when he must be pretty depressed himself.

Well-travelled defender Guy Branston was brought in on an emergency loan deal from Aldershot Town late in November 2012 to help patch up an injury-ravaged Rovers defensive line. With Cian Bolger, Adam Virgo, Tom Parkes and Garry Kenneth all unavailable for selection, Branston provided vital cover.
His debut for The Gas came on 24 November 2012, in a 3–3 draw with Bradford City. He scored his only goal in the blue and white quarters just over a minute into the game, which saw him celebrate wildly due to him being released by The Bantams earlier in the year.

Desperate times me thinks - time to get my boots back on and offer my services FOC. Signed a crock and now a player who cant get anywhere near a L2 side - this is a total water take. Persevere with Kelly ffs - if he cant get into this team I feel sorry for the lad. BTW, Wael & Co time to get rid of DC's mate he's done little or nothing to earn his corn since he's been here. Time to get rid of Wael & Co more like. Tend to agree, once I thought we were so lucky to have Wael and his family as owners but now realise how mistaken I was. Anyone know of a rich Gashead or two interested in buying a struggling league 1 club, with big debts, a 'stadium' that would have been considered poor in the 1950s and with no training ground and more backroom staff and senior administrators than players. I can't see a queue ready to buy the club.

I believe so, there was also a lot of laughter at his approach if I recall correctly. To be fair to the guy though he wasn't the problem- he put effort in and did his best the club itself was just rotten to the core. I'm not sure how, on DC's watch too. But it feels rotten now too.

Back in the day under Higgs yes, but not so sure it feels rotten to the core now.

But then what do we know on here? Or was it because we compared him to Tom Nicholls ? I think Telford has only played one full game for Bury, been on the bench or subbed in the others. Not scored, yet. Perhaps Martin is cover for Kelly? Who knows.... None of us!

I can't see a queue ready to buy the club. Rather than a radical departure they are a minor upgrade: Higgs and co v1.5, essentially. The only thing they have over Higgs is that they have the personal wealth to guarantee losses but when the losses are racked up against the stadium you wonder whether that Higgs himself could have done the same thing and racked up more Wonga loans using the stadium as collateral. I guess they also saw the need to overhaul the club's personnel but as of yet the jury is out on whether that is yielding any tangible benefit on the pitch.

We have lost our way and that is usually the start if nothing else. I never expected the Al Qadi's to water money away like some were suggesting but even so it is remarkable how we have fallen from grace as a club after the takeover and the promotion, to now loaning in a Stevenage reject to patch the inadequacies of the summer transfer window.

So, Because we have "lost our way" that means it's rotten to the core? Um OK then.......

If we had won our first five games he wouldn’t be saying this. Form changes the opinions of owners massively, I’ve found lately.

Martin played virtually every game for Stevenage last season so he can't be that bad or they wouldn't have played him all season. He may not be happy playing league 2 football having played at a higher level for most of his career, he may have fallen out with the manager or the club have to reduce their wage bill, there could be loads of reason why Martin was not being played for Stevenage this season , I think you need to see him play a few games for Rovers before you start jumping to conclusions, we don't have an experienced left back at the moment so surely his signing has strengthen the team.

so he had no club when we got him ? Bodin was a young, hungry & talented player who was injury prone. This guy is supposed to be in his prime but instead of being injury prone, can't get into a L2 team because he isn't good enough. This is only because Stevenage’s tunisian manager doesn’t rate him.....
