Is a CB coming in..? Or are the two loans enough for DC?

Recent results must suggest we need something we haven't currently got in the squad - a dominating CB for instance which might force the old purse strings open last minute.

We need more players, better players, but we wont sign anyone else.
DC will work with what he has got and i'm sure he has left a little bit for January.
He has got his work cut out though!!

Yeah, we need a tall CB who can attack the ball in the box, play it out to feet, set things up from midfield, screen the back four, win it in midfield, put in decent crosses, beat his man down the wing, run the channels, play just off the opposition's CB, be a target man, take all the set-pieces, be a false number 9, and a false number 10, get twenty goals a season, and play in goal.

He only got himself to blame Why? DC doesn't control the purse strings, if we don't sing anybody else today it's pretty obvious DC is having to work on a restricted budget but if the club is up for sale I guess the ALQ's have no real incentive to splash the cash.

I fear we are fooked if we don't get that big CB we all know we need. Not only are we struggling anyway, but we will lose Lockyer to the Welsh squad and sure to get injuries/suspensions along the way too.

Do we not normally get an interview from DC on a Thursday talking about Saturday's game?? Not seen it this week yet, hoping they are waiting until we sign someone, before doing it!

Mensah going out on loan ? 6 months of regular football in league 2 would be great for the lad...

Would be really penny pinching stupidity not to go for a 6 foot plus centre back ....unless DC thinks Alfie Kilgour of someone else in development squad is ready to step up if needed. Not sure when Menayses will be fit or whether he's still rated by DC.

I was at the development game last night and the player who caught my eye was the cb playing alongside Kilgour , I think his name is Ben Morgan ? he is about 6ft 3 and heads the ball strongly, very vocal and was organising the defence all game. someone said he is 20 so maybe he might get some bench time, he looks a hell of a prospect to me.

As I said a while ago we’d get a LB in (my source thought it was Golbourne but turned out he was wrong and it was Martin) and Mensah would be going out to a Lge 2 team. No other business for us unless we send anyone else from the 1st team squad out and then it would be an out loan to fund an in loan....
I don’t think we need anyone else - Martin and Kelly will share the LB problem slot until THD is fit and I expect Bonham to replace Smith in goal... we need to remember Kelly is young with only a couple of league/1st team competitive games experience and so DC will be cautious about throwing him in at the deep end and having him play 2 games a week as if he has a poor game or is inconsistent, it could shatter his confidence and destroy his career. JC picked up a knock but He, Parts and DL will share the RB slot and Locks, Craig and Broadbent will be the CBS ... we don’t need an old fashioned lump of a CB as long as you’re CBs read the game and position correctly and your full backs sweep behind when needed.
The challenge for me is the CM partnership... we need 1 defensive to sit in front the back 4 - Upson or Clarke and 2 attacking (2 of Lines, Sercs, Matthews, Rodders, Sincs) and then Payne with 2 of Nichols, Bennett, Jak, Reilly) assuming we play an expansive 4-3-3 / 4-5-1 / 4-1-2-3 / 4-1-2-1-2 formation(s)
