It was our first Rovers match today and it was painful to watch. Our inability to control the ball and make a simple pass really shocked me, added to which the lack of pace of some of our players was very evident I know we have a raft of players out but it is obvious we have gone backwards in the last 6/12 months. The biggest concern is we dont look like creating many chances as our build up play is ponderous and predictable. I am not one to overreact, but we are crying out for creativity and drive so getting some of our injured players back cant happen soon enough Finally, it was patently obvious that Martin would get sent off as he walking a fine line all game and why he dived in when the ball was not in a dangerous area I dont no, he cost us 2 points as despite all their possession Shrewsbury looked as woeful as us in front of goal!!

Rest assured it was painful to listen to. Our Chairman said a few times how poor we were with the ball and could not string three passes together. He was clearly not a happy bunny, knew the referee in question was known as trigger and was obviously frustrated by us picking up yellows when we already knew his reputation.

If the Chairnan is openly critical that does not bode well. I feel that next Saturday is a must win for DC - it cannot go on like this.

Probably the worst game I have ever watched in my 60 years supporting the Gas. Worst performance, worst Referee ever. Hard to believe that what I was watching were professionals.

Not felt this despair since Braintree.Awful standard of football with certain players not fit to wear the Quarters. With the total lack of any evidence of the long awaited stadium development or training complex with M'r Wael stating publicly he can't tell us anything due to 'Confidentiality Agreements' either that means plan 'B' & there really is something happening or he's waffling.

This will be a really tough time for DC. Despite claims of a tiny budget we have recruited more than enough players of a league one standard. They should be capable of a mid table finish.
DC now has 4 months to string some results together. Failure to do that and the pressure on the board to act could become too great.
At the moment I think he feels confident he can get them playing. It will be interesting to listen carefully to his post match interviews now for any signs of not knowing how to resolve the problems we've got.
The challenge now for him is great, how he reacts to a relegation fight will tell us a lot about his ability as a manager.
A September like our August could well be the beginning of the end.

DC should have plenty of credit in store to survive a poor start.

A draw away from home? The worst performance in 60 years? If that's your opinion, then so be it, but you might have missed a few other shockers down the decades which make today look like nothing much.

One weeks it's the board's fault, the next week it's DC's fault. Which is it?

If only we could afford a Eunan O'Kane or a Ricky Holmes to unlock defences.

If the Chairnan is openly critical that does not bode well. I feel that next Saturday is a must win for DC - it cannot go on like this. It's all very well the Chairman being openly critical on the radio, but what has he done to try and help DC? Did he make sure DC could replace The Snake when he f ucked off to the sh**? Did he make sure DC had funds to replace Bodin when he f ucked off to Preston? Did he make sure DC had the funds to replace Ellis when he f ucked off to Ipswich? All the board allowed DC to sign were cut-price replacements. It comes to something when the likes of Exeter and Forest Green can tell us to take a walk when we enquire about their players! I wonder what would happen if DC went on the radio and called the chairman and board a bunch of tight-fisted c unts? I was at Shrewsbury today, and what I saw was a bunch of very limited players doing the best they could. There was no spark such as might be provided by the players just mentioned. 2 of The enforced free signings, Rodman and Upson might as well have stayed back in Bristol. And as for Martin, his performance typified the sort of crap DC is forced to sign by those useless tossers who own and run our club. Rant over.
