Ross Wallace, Kazenga LuaLua, David Henen, Adam Hammill, Wes Hoolahan, Darren Bent, Matt Mills, Greg Halford, Lloyd Dyer, Chris Eagles, Jim O'Brien, Diego Poyet, Nathan Oduwa are just some of the ones available. I could name 5 or 6 quality ones abroad, but you probably won't be aware of them so I won't bother. Pirate its ok naming these players but they are out of contract for a reason and they probably wouldn't bother to get out of bed for what we would offer them and you would question whether they would have the fitness now anyway as personally I think big name players like those would have been signed in the summer if they were worth signing now.

Name the players not fit to wear the shirt then? Remember the time when players were out of form or lacking in confidence? Nobody ever says "hes off form" now. Its just get rid etc nowadays, what i dont get is its mostly older fans that are quickest to turn. As an older fan myself I understand how staffordshiregas feels. Despite all the failings we saw in society in years gone by there was then, IMO, a greater tendency to say what you meant and to stick by what you said. Darrell Clarke struck a chord with Gasheads when he said he wanted a mix of young hungry players together with seasoned professionals of good character and I think the team built with the likes of Lockyer, O Clarke, Leadbitter and Harrison along with Mansell, Monkhouse and Mildenhall are a testament to this philosophy. What I believe he planned to do was to continue pursuing this policy at a higher level of quality as Rovers moved up the leagues. But unfortunately, due to financial constraints and the justified perception of Rovers as an unfashionable club lacking in facilities, he has found this difficult to accomplish. Do the recent signings really fit the category of player which Darrell said at the start he wanted to bring to the club ? We know Nichols, Smith and Sercombe all had problems at their previous clubs and were not wanted. And if we are honest with ourselves aren't Upson, Rodman, Payne and Martin the kind of journeymen we said we didn't want anymore ? It is the "double speak" which gets to me and I expect many older fans too. If we cannot follow the plan which we were given and embraced at the beginning of the journey with Darrell Clarke, and which we thought Wael was going to continue and improve on with investment and up to date infrastructure, then for goodness sake tell us ! The worst offender in my eyes is Wael because (as I've posted many times before) he relies on thinking he can pull the wool over our eyes because he knows most of us don't understand how business works. If he really meant it when he said he wants what is best for Bristol Rovers then he has to tell us how he is going to provide the training facilities, the modern stadium and the budget which Darrell Clarke needs to be able to keep his best players and to add true quality to the squad If he cannot do this he should let go, cut his losses and pass the club on to someone who can take it forward. Fair point we’ll written but once again I ask do you know if our budget has been cut or higher than last season ?

Depends if you choose to believe Wael (or at least what 20pence says Wael told him about the budget) or DC. I think the recruitment problem is more than just budget. Thought a recruitment specialist/ scout might be the answer but clearly it's not.

Stick with what we have then and struggle to string 2 or 3 passes together and have one shot on target (a pen) like we did yesterday.

It's going to be tough Season but we all knew that. Don't forget, we had Lockyer out for the Southend game, Sercombe off within 10 mins, new striker trying to settle in, keeper replacement, LB replacement, it's not easy to start firing on all cylinders when that's happening to the squad. Bring on Saturday!

Add DC to your list as well not sure yet but from his record since February Think Wael is getting fed up from what he is replying to on Twitter, someone said to him upson is absolutely sh** and he said yes I agree I do love dc for what he has done for us but now it seems he can’t attract decent players, our best player rumoured to be on over 6k a week is left on bench Rodman, slow and lazy Upson, just crap and you can see why mk went down with him New left back,f**king cowboy Gk,catch the thing don’t punch it Out of interest who's the player on £6k a week. PM me if it's confidential...

Bring on Saturday! Exactly. Not to mention Lines’ suspension. We have had no naturally creative or forward runners in midfield so with Chris back for Plymouth I’m hopeful of a more balanced and incisive team. The cards haven’t fallen for us in many ways so far this season but it will turn around.

Lines missed Southend, QPR and Shrewsbury. What I'm not sure of is whether the EFL cup game counts as one of his 3. If it does then he should be available for Plymouth.

I forgot that one game was in the league cup. Can anyone confirm? Edit - just seen pirate’s reply.

The Poster that said it was rumoured that one of our Players was on over £6,000 per week (£312,000 PA) is highly unlikely, as that one Player would command about one sixth of a £2M hypothetical budget.

DC should have plenty of credit in store to survive a poor start. The collateral in store is points, DC knows that and l believe he will dig deep and kick start the season next week. It cannot be easy being let down all the time by the Teflon board, D.C. needs to get them ticking, and the confidence will start coming back both on and off the pitch.

Not sure how reliable the data is but footy.com suggests our average wage last year was £1500 per week (sound about right to me) and at Portsmouth the average was £3269 so Bennett might be on more than I thought. www.footy.com/footballers-vs-the-fans/#efl-league-one

So would I, but the footy.com site does look interesting and if accurate might explain our difficulty in attracting better quality players and does show Accrington paying less than many conference clubs which is what John Coleman told 20pence.
