Of his own success. Two promotions in quick succession, a top ten finish in his third season as a very young and inexperienced manager and the precedent was set for even higher expectations by the hard done by faithful. I understand the criticism of the quality of signings but surely the reason is down to what we offer in terms of wages and if players actually want to join Rovers. But what I can’t understand is the bitterness from some towards DC so soon after three quite brilliant seasons which turned this club right round. If this season goes tits up and the worse happens, relegation, we already have a man at the helm with the experience and credentials to get us back up again. No need for a sacking and a change in personnel. The man deserves our backing. He gave us back the Rovers we thought was lost.

Best post I’ve read in a while. 100% agree and other than what’s written on social media I don’t think DCs position is under any real threat

He's got my backing for sure.
I still believe he'll pull this squad into shape before too long.

Well we could...if he was considered a troll who was a city fan...??
Which I’m starting to think he is with his constant rhetoric

Yet another beautifully phrased piece of constructive criticism

No doubt you are one of the old Skool, knowledgeable Rovers fans from the Eastville days who can’t let go that Darrel was in charge when we got relegated out of the League. You remember those days, Rovers were sinking like the titanic and only John Ward reached the lifeboat.

You obviously only choose which of my posts to read otherwise you would see that in the past I said that I felt for DC when we got relegated and it was not his fault I have also said I am grateful for what he did with the back to back promotions but I have said many a time that he is out of his depth in league 1 and yes I am old Skool and grew up on the tote end

With our restrictions on wages, facilities and transfer kitty, not dure that Messrs Klopp, Guardiola et al would fare any better

I agree to some extent, but that doesn't mean he is immune from criticism.
When you look at some of the signings in our division like Eunan O'Kane, Andre Green, Devante Cole, Josh Cullen, Zach Clough, Fred Onyedinma, Stuart O'Keefe, Jake Hesketh, Cauley Woodrow, Joe Mason, Cameron Borthwick-Jackson, Ricky Holmes, Sean Scannell, Dean Marney, Stuart O'Keefe etc, ours looks poor in comparison. Could we have used our budget more wisely? If we were looking for 'quality over quantity' then we did a poor job of it IMHO.
However, he has had to sell his best players for the past three transfer windows and now we are told there are financial constraints. Personally I don't think he has been backed sufficiently in the market by the Al Qadis, regardless of how he has actually spent the budget and whether you think he had made good or bad signings.

As for being out of his depth, you may well be right this season but he wasn’t out of his depth when we finished tenth was he? Football isn’t all black and white tho is it? We may well finish 16th this season and play offs next you just don’t know.

It’s self explanatory really, just that. Nothing sinister but plenty still hold DC responsible 100% for the relegation to the conference and can’t wait for him to fail.

Everyone and everything has a shelf life. In many walks of life a manager/boss has to realise he/she has given their business all the ideas and energy they have. It doesn't mean they have become a poor boss, just that past success counts for little when what matters is what's happening now. Perhaps familiarity and routine begin to take away the 'buzz'. From an objective career development point of view DC needs to have success with another club As my mother used to say, 'The graveyards are full of irreplaceable people'!
