I've just been reading the job section on the OS. Looks like we're becoming a major employer in the Bristol area. www.bristolrovers.co.uk/club/careers/When I started out supporting Rovers any non playing enquiry or job beyond selling tickets or cutting the grass seemed be done by the great man, Gordon. I know the "evolution not revolution" thing is wearing a bit thin due to player recruitment and our grass growing experiment in Almondsbury but the club structure is changing fairly quickly. It will take time before we see how this translates into on field improvement. It would be nice to see some kind of representation, maybe graphically as to how the club is now structured. Maybe the owners are getting something right and maybe we will be saying in ten years time they were the best thing that ever happened to the club. Patience, though, amungst us football fans is a rare thing. No doubt caused by the main reason we turn up on a Saturday afternoon, the buzz of ninety minutes of expectation.

I’d be surprised if these owners were here in 2 years, let alone 10, but I may be proved wrong.

I’d be surprised if these owners were here in 2 years, let alone 10, but I may be proved wrong. There is no sign whatsoever that there is any genuine interest in buying the football club from the AQ's. They appear to be trying to run the club on a sustainable basis. They no doubt hope that improments on the commercial side of the club will begin to eat into the annual losses. The jobs we're advertising are directed towards future improvements in the quality of player that we have at the club. That is recruitment or development of young players. Also looking after young fans and making the experience of fans better. The money spent on the first team is obviously in a stage of maintaining third division football. I'm guessing if WAQ was forced to declare his plan, he would reiterate that when the commercial returns improve, money will be spent on the first team playing side of things. I know it's a chicken and egg situation as, if results don't improve crowds will fall. WAQ's problem is managing to achieve both things at the same time whilst keeping the fans on board.

[br I’m not sure what sign we would expect to see, but all the answers to questions given in the recent interview with Twentyman were batted away with legal issues. What legal issues are there in just plodding along with some minor improvements to increase turnover?

The Gordon Bennett I knew would say that someone should stand before the Thatchers end with a megaphone leading the singing when it all goes quiet over there.

The Gordon Bennett I knew would say that someone should stand before the Thatchers end with a megaphone leading the singing when it all goes quiet over there. Any idea where he is now? I went to school with him at Chipping Sodbury Grammar. Train spotting was the great passion among us then. Then he popped up at Rovers. Believe he went to Norwich, then Plymouth. Then where?
