would like to add 88/89 season Fulham 0-4 Gas in playoff second leg, I went to the game with home fans in the home end and celebrated the goals with no trouble at all. Living in London, I found it easier to get home end tickets for that game too...and apart from being told to sit down you 4-eyed Bristolian C*** after the third went in I agree with you that Fulham fans weren't any trouble...they were more concerned with giving the ref a hard time for sending Scott off. It was a nervy first half in which Martyn was outstanding but the atmosphere until we scored was electric. Got to see all of the 6-0 Reading game...traffic not being so bad coming from the opposite direction on the M4 and although it was a goalless first half the vibe was good with McKeever in particularly good form. A 4-1 win at Oldham stands out for the genius Astafjievs showed that day - they had to crock him to stop him...and a 5-0 at Oxford which if I remember correctly was one of our early looks at the Duke starting a game because Roberts was on international duty. Cureton bagged a hat trick and we were all over them like a rash that day. Winning 4-1 at Stoke including a Cureton worldy was another highlight. Generally I like our away cup games against higher opposition best as we reserve our best fan atmospheres for those, Chelsea, Fulham, Everton, Man City, Aston Villa and even Wolves last year were good memories. Would like a crack at singing Irene at the Emirates or the Etihad......or the new White Hart Lane when they eventually move into it - maybe we can create a new record of losing 9-0 at two grounds with the same name!

That Southampton game was 9 years ago yesterday! (29th September 2009) We have not beaten an ex Premier league (post 2000) team away from home in the league since then!

Blackpool away will probably never be topped for me, but my first ever away match was the FA Cup game at the Dell V Southampton. Special day for me as I attended with my Grandad, Dad and Uncle who are sadly no longer alive. Think Keegan was in their side that day.

4-2 at Trashton in League Cup after losing first leg 3-1!!! This one, very few gas present that night because of the first leg, although it would appear there were 5000 there not the couple of hundred that were........ Rained so hard I had to throw my leather jacket away afterwards but kept very quiet walking back across Smyth park. Can remember everything about that game, but most of all the sh*thead scum throwing chairs at their own players from the Dolman stand after the game. Priceless and would happily give my big toe to re-live it again. Went down to Trashton and against my better judgement gave the filth £10.00 for the video, the lady in the shop said "You must be a gashead...............that's the only one we've sold...................." Tosser Tottles commentary is priceless.

I was on the railings separating the home/away fans and when goals were going in....s heads weren't up for it at all, heads down quiet as you like! Probably less than 1000 there but we sung our hearts out and shut the whole stadium up! Great night to be a GasHead..

Been at most of those games, Brighton 8-2 the big cup games and all the games against city. One i really loved was beating them in the gloucester cup, after we had won promotion, 2-0 and the flag poles getting pulled down, pretty sure we had the whole open end packed that game. The Blackpool weekend is still the best though.

For all the woes we have for following the gas we really have had some terrific away days . The ones that stick in my mind are Derby the Ellington hatrick , Hoggs late equaliser at Everton , Williams late goal at Southampton but best of all Beadles 2 goals in that evening game at Ashton when I took my son to his first Bristol derby even though my wife wasn’t that keen on me taking him.Managed to get him in for nothing by persuading the turnstile operator to let me lift him over the style & have never seen an away end so rammed , god knows how many gas were in it that night.

City 0 Rovers 2 (What out Beadle's about) Reading 0 Rovers 6 Derby 1 Rovers 3 (FA cup - Prem vs League 2 - The Duke's hat trick - We were the first Div 4 side to win at a Prem side in the FA cup) Oldham 4 Rovers 4 (3-0 in first half and the home fans taking the water next to us but ended 3-3 at half time)
That Oldham game, we were in Turkey at the time, we went down to the bar because they said they had English football on, guess what game they were showing!?
If I remember correctly we went 4-3 down early in 2nd half too?
Yes they went 4-3 up and we got a late equaliser.
The away end was behind the goal. Half of the end was for us away fans and the other half was the home fans. We were singing loud as always and the Oldham lot was quiet, until they scored their 1st. And their fans next to us were taking the water and it got worse at 2-0 and even more worse at 3-0. But you should have seen their faces at 3-3. I was laughing me head off. They were so quiet and couldn't even look our way!! Of course, when they got their 4th they were all mouthy again. I remember Warnock going mental with his players at 3-3 and our fans giving him a tough time with our 'creative' songs towards him

I've been thinking and can't decide. The games at Trashton - League Cup, Beadles 2-0 and late equaliser are obvious ones. As is Liverpool in the cup. But I also enjoyed the game at Aston Villa - Big Mal vs Big Ron. Add in Derby in the cup (3-1) and the only other one I can say was a great day was Swindon away when Pounder and Percy tore them apart.

January 3rd 1968
My first game watching Rovers. FA Cup 3rd round away at Ashton Gate. 0 - 0. We lost the replay 1-2. The days when Eastville was better than the gate The Dolman stand had yet to be built and it was just a long open terrace. Had a free ticket from my friend at school who was a shithead, although we didn't call them that back then. Up until that point I had followed Burnley, as my Dad was from there.
That season we beat Arnold 3-0 away in the first round and Wimbledon 4-0 away in the second round.

One nil down three one up we knocked city out of the cup. Randall x2 and Mark O Conner. Plus the away trip to Wolves sometime in the 80s. They had Steve Bull and Andy Mutch. They lost one game at home that season. Was around easter time. We were being battered then Dennis Bailey smacked one into the top corner. Happy days.
