Fair point. So going back to "price of football" unless all the clubs figures are wrong were in the middle cluster of clubs. I think you can take those figures with a pinch of salt, if they are doing daft things like mixing up wages with turnover. The bloke running that site is very opinionated and seems to be blagging it in truth. There is a blog called "swiss ramble" which seems better informed.

We've overlooked the SCMP wage cap rules which is set at 60% of turnover, so we paid more or less £3m in wages assuming we hit the cap as seem to be this season, where the wage budget must now be £3.5/£4m if turnover has increased to £6m+ as seems likely. Wouldn't 60% of turnover be £7.8m * 0.6 = £4.68m? Or are some things excuded from turnover for SCMP purposes?

Sorry, my last post used expenditure instead of turnover.
At face value, our FFp maximum wage bill was £6.22m = 0.6 = £3.7m. We must have spent a lot less than on player wages, so why did the owner et al refer to FFP rules as a restraint on our spending? Confused...

I saw a report last week said we have spent 85% of our turnover which is the limit, and that is why DC had to have one out before he had one in, as it were Then somebody said we will be ok in January because the Ipswich money will be counted as part of our income, but I am pretty sure they are paying in instalments. So someone else "outed" pardon the expression in January. Oh pleeeeeeeease let it be Nichols who is on a 4 year deal

Oh pleeeeeeeease let it be Nichols who is on a 4 year deal The limit is 60% of turnover on senior player wages only according to this www.financialfairplay.co.uk/scmp.php. In the last accounts, we were nowhere near 85% of turnover, or even 60% of turnover.
You are right that where transfer fees are received in instalments, only the instalments received in the year count in the turnover for the year.
I assume the report isn't in the public domain?
