Is it true parts of the ground will be shut for the replay ? Shocking if true ! well only Wets and North tickets are on sale, so I would say yes.
sounds sensible in reducing unnecessary cost if only 3000 are going to be knocking about

Well it'll give OTIB plenty to add to their Rovers dustbin threat about our massive support as we've slipped down the page with all their John Snout out threads. Obviously they don't care about us of course and hopefully we'll beat Barnet so not to add to their glee

So if you want to stand and watch in your usual place you can’t,that’s five of us giving this game a miss.

Each to their own but sorry that seems a bit weird to me, but then to be fair I'm not a season ticket holder so I have to stand whenever there is space!

It's going to make the lap of honour at the end seem strange😂

Come on it's a first round cup replay against a non league side so if we hit 5k I would be surprised with all the costs for supporters nowadays
If it was a 6th round replay against a top team then that would be different

As an East Stand season-ticket holder this is the first time that I haven't had the option of sitting in my normal seat for a FA Cup match. Closing parts of the ground will only save money if it doesn't put lots of people off of going. Of course, if it does put many off then the club will use the low attendance as proof that the decision to close parts of the ground was the right one!

I'm also a fellow East Stand-er and I've taken these opportunities to go in parts of the ground I wouldn't normally. When we beat Crawley in the cup a few years ago I went in the West Stand which is a really decent view. When we played in the league cup this season I went in the Blackthorn for a change. I think closing the East Stand is the right choice as it cuts down the costs for the club and means you're not sat on your own in a sea of empty seats

I personally feel that shutting down parts of the ground is playing into the hands of the opponents and giving Barnet a better chance of getting a result as it cuts down the atmosphere of the place. The saving pennies could result in losing pounds by not getting through. It is a sad time when we cannot or do not expect to get 5000 for an FA Cup match against ANY opposition-in fact I think it proves we are NOT as big a support as we think we are!! It worries me that the owners are doing this, particularly with the silence about the place. These are bad times as doing this will probably guarantee we will get a small gate.

The fully open ground and atmosphere worked a treat against Chesham and Barrow

Maybe you are both right. I just feel it is giving some "supporters" another excuse not to go and will keep the gate down. Never mind in Wael we trust!

Yes I noticed that yesterday when I went online to get my ticket. I guess there’s a lot of home games in the next two weeks so some might give this one a miss. I am going to lean on the rails at the back of the Thatchers instead of the East Stand. But you’re right it will cut down the atmosphere. The Crawley game was a bit weird with that side shut. Owners trying to cut costs obviously. Might be a good time to have a cup run to give the place a good feel. UTG!

2011/12 1st round v Corby 3787
we have had bigger attendances in the 1st round in the past decade but against better oppo such as Southampton, Bournemouth etc
Barnet will easily fall into the 3-4k range

One of the reasons i go to the same part of the ground is i can meet/chat/chew the fat with my fellow supporters who i have stood next to for many years...
If i cannot do that, then that's another reason not to go and watch the game on ifollow if it's available

I'm guessing that this was due to the East stand being demolished and replaced between the Scunthorpe & Gillingham fixtures. This was the news that all the ITK's & COP people were expecting in October. The delay in scoreboard and new tent stand was just a purposeful tease

I too enjoy sitting in different parts of the ground when the opportunity arises. Change is as good as a rest as they say! If the demand for tickets is extremely high then I am sure the club will consider whether it would be worth opening up the east stand. Of all the things to moan about this surely is not it.
