Im a dc fan but i didnt like his post match interview. I didn't like his critical comments about the keepers,it wasn't needed, they both know that maybe they could have done better. We were 2nd best for 70 minutes of the game and dc refused to admit that truth and blamed the owners, the forward thinking players and the goalkeepers. We lost taylor, brown, bodin and harrison all very good players but that does not mean he was certain to sign rubbish to replace them but on the evidence of this season that is what he has done. Exactly! I hate this whole narrative that selling players = certain relegation because there is the big white elephant in the room of Accrington and Shrewsbury last season. If you have an eye for a bargain then you should at least be able to avoid relegation. DC needs to hold his hand up on the scouting front at this point in time. Him and TW don't know a league one standard player from a hole in their ass at the moment and that needs to change. Neither Shrewsbury or Accrington sold millions of pounds worth of players before their good seasons, I don't get the comparison.
Selling very valuable players won't guarantee relegation, but more likely than not it'll end up with you at the wrong end of the table. The manager is trying to do his job with an anchor round his neck, and I don't think that changing manager will make much difference.

£200K gets you Payne/Bakayoko, £400K Godden (who was only a Div 2 striker), if it's so easy to keep on finding cheap gems why are teams ever relegated to Div 2/the Conference?

But how much did they both spend to compete at the top end of the division? We are spinning a hard luck story that failure is inevitable if you sell your best players. In other words if you have a budget like ours you automatically can't compete so should accept relegation. I would say that is far wide of the mark as other teams are proving. If you have a crap scouting infrastructure and sell your best players *then* you are going to fail.

Then again if we are only giving DC a bottom 8 budget, whilst selling out top scorer each season, we're eventually going to finish in the bottom 4 that's the law of averages. Although if DC is wasting his budget then surely the boat need to act?

None of us know if his budget is higher or lower than last season. When we finished mid table last season was everybody complaining that his budget was too low ?

Nobody knows the exact budget, online research comes up with between 12th and 18th in league one. Whatever way you look at it we are underachieving as no sites put our budget at 21st.

Probably because at the same point last year we looked like relegation material and most were relieved to finish where we did.
This season is different; we have no real matchwinners or game changers in the squad and the players don't seem to react to DC or the fans in a positive way.
Anyway, there are plenty of players already doing well in this league who cost very little, stands to reasons others are out there, but what decent players would want to join us given our form and league position?

Using that logic any team in the bottom 4 may as well not bother trying to sign players in January, as no decent player will ever consider joining them.

Not saying no decent player will as there would be a number of factors to consider when moving clubs, but I would imagine quite a few would be put off by our current position.

Yeah, but wait until they see the family stand? That alone should swing it in our favour.

Maybe drive them past Manor farms ground and say we play there instead

Anyone heard whether the "Meeting" has taken place yet between DC and the owners to enable him to outline his demands.
