I do think one issue is that the team is set up for overlapping full backs but partington, martin and kelly just cant quite manage that role. dan leadbitter can do it but has been erratic with his crossing and with his previous injury problems its hard to select him saturday/tuesday. Leadbitter`s crossing was never his strong point, but he used to get a few decent ones over per game. Not this season. He seems to overhit everything. The ball ends up in the beer garden of the Wellington or the Civil Service playing fields, depending on which way he is attacking. I don`t know why he doesn`t make more use of his pace to get himself into the box, try and draw a penalty from a defender.
Mix up his tactics a bit.
Probably down to whatever is holding half the squad back is it lack of confidence, or poor management, or lack of desire, etc, etc it's never really clear what is the issue at a struggling club. What's the betting with a change of manager or a decent CF being signed, we'd then look a completely different team if the players knew we might start scoring goals/winning games.

He still wouldn't be able to deliver a cross - like Haldene before him flattered to deceive - all the pace but no end product with his shut your eyes and hit and hope. I cannot understand why our wide players can no longer seem to be able to pick a player out with a cross Haldane wasn`t a winger; he was a striker who was stuck out on the left, in the mistaken belief that it would give us width. Just like Sercombe these days. Absolute waste of what those players were good at.

DC needs to be radical, personally I would play Sercombe up front, or at least give it a try, he is a strong runner, holds the ball well, can beat players, has a good shot, but most of all he has anticipation. The one thing that is the difference between a good forward and an average forward

The one thing that is the difference between a good forward and an average forward exactly - one on one or from range I’d back him over any of our strikers and we’ve got plenty of midfielders!

Most of sercombes goals have come from running onto or with the ball facing the goal from midfield. So dc needs to make sure he plays in centre midfield instead of playing him wide. Playing as a striker is utter madness in my view, hes not especially quick so he wont get in behind the defence and whats the point of having him with his back to goal playing upfront when we know how good he is playing in midfield facing the goal?
