We need to move on players on good money, otherwise it’s not worth doing. The problem is that it’s harder to move these players on, for obvious reasons, especially if they are underachieving. In an ideal world we lose: Upson - not an awful player but we have enough options in midfield Payne - rightly or wrongly he is out of favour with the fans and will take a lot for him to turn it round Nicholls - can’t fault his effort but we need better and we need strikers who have the confidence to get into goalscoring areas Reilly - clearly not rated as good enough at present by DC so no point in keeping him Smith - just clearly doesn’t seem good enough and must also be on a fair wedge given that he wasn’t signed as a number 2. I agree with all of them bar Reilly, keep him but we will need to get the higher earners of the wage bill, I would have thought Bennett is on a fair wedge so he can go.
