Sadly I think this is the window we have to sell Locks in order to generate some funds to acquire a striker worthy of the name. Probably still wouldn't be enough to prise a league striker away from their current deal but might tempt the Leyton Orient lad Bonne or we might go for someone banging the goals in at sixth-tier level. The other permanents to go would be Upson, THD, Smith, Mensah, Bennett and Payne...and both Martin and Jakubiak can be returned to their parent clubs because we haven't bothered playing them enough. Tell Kelly he's got the rest of the season to prove he's got what it takes to be our left back, stick to playing Leadbitter at RB when fit. Clarke J and Craig now are the main CH pairing with Mayo, TB and Alfie filling in when necessary. Matthews starts on one wing, Walker or Baghdadi can share the other so we don't ruin either of them with too many pressure games in their fledgling careers, Bonne and Moore up top. Lines and Clarke O central. First change tactical sub is Sercombe for either Ollie, if more creativity is needed, or Lines if the legs are letting him down, second tactical sub is Sinclair for the winger tiring the most, put him in the harrying role in the hole behind the two strikers and switch to a narrow 3 in midfield, third tactical sub is throw on Reilly or Warwick if we're chasing the game, Partington if we're protecting what we have. Andre jr gets the sub keeper role and Rodman and Nichols have to be on fire in training to get near the bench.
That's nine out and one in, and using the development squad and best of the academy more. Which might leave room for one more in and still deliver the cuts DC suggests will need to be made.

2 forwards 2 wingers, a tall centre back & sort the keeper out!!! Without filling those positions were down.... DC seems to have lost faith with Sam matthews but given games he could be an option on the wing...Deon Moore could be given an early opportunity too....Michael kelly needs to go back in at LB!!!! Joe Martin offers very little..... as for players going...... ?? Who knows??? Could be any 4/5/or 6 from at least a list of 10 that aren’t good enough or have nowhere near enough quality.....

pointless getting anyone on loan. we cant afford bench fodder. boils my p1ss that payne cant be ar5ed and yet is always picked yet last season telford sat on the bench all season and jakubiak is likely to do the same this season. if they arent deemed good enough for the 1st team then dont get them in on loan to begin with. i would personally keep nicholls but play him as an attacking mid just sat behind 2 tall strikers who can score

I’m not sure we can simply off load these players can we, aren’t they under contract? Would it mean putting them up for sale? If so, who can you see buying them? And for how much?
Football is a confidence game. There is a good squad here, playing with none because we don’t score
For me we go all out to either buy a lower league striker or a young Prem/championship lad on loan
The boards intentions will be seen soon, I just pray we aren’t doomed by Jan and in free fall. The current players need to keep us in with a chance by picking up points between now and then, my worry is confidence is shot and it won’t matter who we try and off load as it will be too late!

Im sorry, but i have to strongly disagree...There isn't a good squad here at all. Totally lopsided and lacking a dominant centre back, a couple of quality full backs, width in midfield AND goalscorers.

Out Any 5 of Slocombe/Smith/Craig/Broadbent/Martin/Lines/Sinclair/Bennett/Payne/Mensah. The issue of course is finding takers for most of them and even if we succeed then it's whether the ones we can shift are actually of any value.
In I'd love a Steve Morrison type but he's played 20 games already this season so probably not specifically him. Bonham full time would be a plus. Then it's a case of getting both some height and pace in this squad. I'd like for us to get a giant CB to play next to Lockyer. Someone who's going to go win all the balls in the air and to finally stop us from conceding from seemingly every cross that comes into the box. We need at least one wide player so that Clarke can go back to wingers and allow him to play Rodamn. Perhaps more importantly it allows Sercombe to play in the middle where he's most effective.

In terms of centre backs, Zech Medley (6ft 5in, Arsenal) and Kyle Howkins (6ft 5in, West Brom) would be worth enquiring about on loan and Jon Guthrie (6ft 3in, Walsall) Cian Bolger (6ft 4in, Fleetwood) are out of contract in the summer. And for the wingers, I'd love us to get either Stephen Walker (Middlesbrough), Arvin Appiah (Nottingham Forest) or Bright Osayi Samuel (QPR) in on loan.

We need a Fraser Hornby type of striker, young so loanable and well built so can cope with getting a kicking at league 1. Everton didnt want to send him to league 1 but hes had a bad injury so may be worth a cheaky bid. Id look at the unattached market also. Lacine Traore is built like a brick Banned word and is far too good for us but may fancy a short term deal to get in the window.
You have several international defenders but its the risk around motivation and fitness. Just get as many out the door as we can and appeal for anyone who wants a trial.

Stockley from Exeter would be a good addition for striker, Padraig Amond from Newport for a goal scoring winger. Get rid of Payne, worst striker to play in the quarters, give Deon Moore a chance, he couldn't do any worse than Payne.

From the unattached market I'd be tempted to make enquiries about Frederic Gounongbe, a 6ft 3in striker released by Cardiff in July, Ruud Boymans, a 6ft 2in striker released by Dutch side Utrecht in July and Jerry Mbakogu, a 6ft 1in striker released by Italian side Carpi in August. All might be prepared to join us for the same reasons you mentioned about Traore.

But everyone on here keeps telling me we don't create anything for poor Mr Unlucky up front and that he has to do everything himself. We have created chances in most games and have had shots on target. We just keep playing someone who can't score and someone who's not trying.

Get Joe Lumsden from Tadcaster Albion and Liam Ferdinand from Bracknell Town in for a trial. Both could be signed permanently outside the window and I seriously reckon both would have offered more of a threat than our strikers.
