No, he wasn't backed financially. All of the money he spent he earned for the club. Ok, fair point. But by that shouldn't previous managers have had millions to spend with all the strikers were made money from over the years! We sold Ellis, bodin and Taylor for a combined total of less than what we sold Lambert for, is that correct? Not sticking up for the owners, just putting in some perspective. Would people rather higgsy, boycie and watola still running things?! No. Although it was 'undisclosed' Lambert was widely reported as £900k, plus add-ons. No where near what we believe those 3 have gone for. HOWEVER, the add-ons were quite a lot apparently and we got money each time he moved upwards / clubs made a profit.

Feel sorry for DC, in that he could not cope with the changes that took place at the club. It will be interesting to see whether he, so say, spills the beans about what is going on behind the scenes. If he doesn't I can only assume he's taken a nice pay off and signed a non disclosure agreement. It seems only at Rovers could fans be upset a manager has left when he's managed 17 points out of a possible 63 and been knocked out of the FA Cup at home by a non league side. DC is a great bloke but it was obvious he had lost his way and there was no sign things were likely to change. No one is bigger than the club, that includes DC and Wael. If people won't support the club because of these individuals that's a matter for them. I will and hope we get some sort of result at Sunderland. Good luck to DC in his future career Isn't it obvious what's going on behind the scenes ? Take a trip to the "new" training ground, for example.

Mid table budget, new pitch, development squad, U 21's, U18's, U16's. coach for every position + fitness coach, £550k wasted on 2 useless forwards. Clarke has had more than ANY previous manager, and he takes us down to the relegation spot, with just 4 wins in 20, 8 wins in 40. He had to go, unless of course you all wanted to face Gaffney next season

Weird really. No one is ever bigger than the football club but it felt like DC was the football club.
Will never get my head around the decision. I just wish there was a way of letting DC know how the majority of us feel about it.

Don't forget they had to pay for it twice because they hired a bodge company the first time round. U21's and coaches for them etc, like pretty much every other professional team has? Wasted 550K but brought the money in himself so? Doubt he'd have had that money if it wasn't for the sales of key players. Yep, poor form. No one else will do better for us.

It may well seem obvious but it would be interesting to hear DC's account as he's the only one people will believe. If we hear nothing we can assume he's taken the AQ's Schilling to keep quiet. I don't blame him by the way, he has to think of his financial future.

Why the f**k has Martyn Starnes come out of the woodwork saying more in a bristol post article than on our own website. Where are Wael and Hamer?
I feel so disillusioned with the club and what is going on.

12:30pm - Breaking news : Industrial strength vacuum cleaner has been spotted at the Mem trying to clear up a huge sandstorm that has appeared in the car park.
1:10pm - Panic over. It was Darrell and Marcus dusting themselves down following this morning's announcements.

It is an opportunity and a possibility to learn differently. You have magical brains, they just process differently. Saying they knew about it Monday, why not announce then?!
They’re fully in the knowledge that supporters would’ve bought tickets for Sunderland under the impression Darrel would be in charge and now he’s gone we’re likely to get f**ked up the arse about 5-0. Brilliant.
Suppose it proves one thing tho all the ‘inciders’ on here clearly know NOTHING and their ‘links’ to the so called corridors of power are well and truly dead. They’d of loved this scoop.

I just wish there was a way of letting DC know how the majority of us feel about it. it's about the perception of control mate. DC clearly resigned but the club put mutual consent because they accepted it. Makes them look more in control and less like he walked because there is no plan and no hope.

I feel today like i did after the Mansfield relegation game, devastated and sick to the stomach!I thought we were different and stuck together in good times and bad, but at the first sign of trouble we find a scapegoat . in this case DC.He has worked his bollocks off for the cause and has been rewarded with the boot, had we shown the same loyalty to DC as he did to some players i am convinced he would have sorted the squad out come Jan and led us to a respectable position ,but now some new regime will get that chance and to be honest at this particular time i couldn't care less what happens .Loyalty is a double edged sword ,we have shown DC none at all while he has perhaps shown to much to some players , resulting in his leaving, perhaps these players should be looking closely at themselves this morning and feeling guilty as they still have there well paid jobs while DC doesn't. To use a seasonal analogy,DC was sold a 'fairy tale of New York' but despite finding out it was just that ,a fairy tale,he still worked his socks off to make our dreams come true.We as supporters are just as culpable as we to believed the fairy story based purely on the perceived wealth of the new owners, and in fairness to these owners the promises never really came from there mouths did it?we just assumed it would happen didn,t we ?In relation to the owners and set up of the club, i dont have a problem with Wael or the chairman as individuals and i do agree when they point out that until something is 'fact' and they confirm it to be so every thing else is just rumors started by people so called in the know, who really know sod all and are just muck stirring for the sake of it ending in 170 odd pages of rubbish we all contribute to!i do however have a problem with the new 'corporate ' Bristol Rovers' aka Dwayne sports and co who couldn't care less about Rovers ,who are just there latest play thing and will move on once they have totally messed us up!You can now add DC to along list of Rovers stalwarts who have worked tirelessly for the cause over the years, often for nothing, and have been shown the door in the pursuit of the new corporate company!me? i want our Rovers back ,rag tag or not, run by true Gas eds,aka the Dunfords,i do think any manager is entitled to decent training facilities, and do think supporters are entitled to decent facilities in line with our status, i mean replacing tents with basic concrete and steel stands would't cost the earth would it?what can we offer decent players an d good managers?(then again Twerton shoots that argument down dont it!)anyway would like to apologize to DC for the way his tenure has ended, hope he goes on to great things and would not begrudge him bringing a team back and hammering us!meanwhile hard though it is we have to move on ,no ones going to change there mind but it will do no harm to make are feeling known to DC and the corporate Bristol Rovers FC, I would suggest a lorry load of thank yous to DC and a lorry load of stuff from trashton to the powers that be,UP THE GAS,WE WILL WIN AT SUNDERLAND!

Yeah, some of the slick, ball on the floor, flowing moves Doncaster managed against us were a joy to watch.

It would've been nice if Hamer and Wael sat there with DC just like Lansdowne did when he let Gary Johnson go.
There was a mutual respect of how far he actually bought the cub that even when it went wrong, they were amicable enough to sit there.
Just like with the UWE announcement, we get a statement that tells us nothing.
Sick of this lot already. Thats us down now IMO and god help us if we get Cotterell or Holloway.

No mutual consent means they came to some agreement re compensation &/or the terms of him leaving, I guess if we're still in Div 1 next season the BoD have made the right decision. Dc's done well for us but 6 defeats on the bounce suggests the players have stopped playing for him, regardless of what they say in the next couple of days.
