Yeah, to be fair, no matter what you think about DC, and I love him, those sort of interviews are often a sign that the plot is being lost, to some degree. Can someone post the link for Saturday’s interview? Is it on YouTube or something as I’m not in the country Here you go. From 34 mins in. Not sure if will work outside of the country though.

Saying they knew about it Monday, why not announce then?! They’re fully in the knowledge that supporters would’ve bought tickets for Sunderland under the impression Darrel would be in charge and now he’s gone we’re likely to get f**ked up the arse about 5-0. Brilliant. Suppose it proves one thing tho all the ‘inciders’ on here clearly know NOTHING and their ‘links’ to the so called corridors of power are well and truly dead. They’d of loved this scoop. DC wanted to visit the players and staff which he did on Wednesday. So if they announced his resignation on Monday it would have looked a bit funny him being at the TG on Wednesday. It was at this time Stewart resigned, so rather than him be in charge on Saturday they had sort that out before they announced it. At least that is what I have read and heard

I was so devastated yesterday that I couldn't even post on here. But feeling more positive today so here goes.
First of all, thank you DC. You are and always will be one of the biggest legends of the club for turning the sinking ship around. You made a promise that you would give us our Rovers back and you certainly delivered. You will always be remembered for your passion and commitment towards the club and the loyalty you showed, you deserved better in return. Personal highlights as well as the obvious dramatic promotions for me, the "print that b**tard" video and your interview post the snake leaving.
I think DC was far from happy at the moment and looked extremely stressed, this season was obviously taking it's toll on him. I'm sure he'll have a much more relaxed Christmas with his family now that this weight has been lifted off his shoulders. I'm sure he won't struggle to get another job at this level soon should he want one and I predict he will go onto bigger and better things. I truly believe he had become a gashead through and through during his time here and I only hope that the last few months and the way it has ended don't mean that he looks back at his time with the club with bitterness and bad memories rather than fond ones.
Finally, onto the future. The board has really failed to deliver on any of their major promises so far and I am disappointed with the decision to let DC go. I hope they rectify this a little now by bringing in the right man (not Cotterill for me) to turn the season around and get us back up towards the right end of the table. I know many have mentioned boycotting and possibly wishing failure on the club at the minute under this board and I don't really blame them as I felt the same yesterday. However with a more positive mood today I just can't wish failure on the club and I am hoping a change in management will result in a change in fortunes to help us rise up the table. UTG!

I’m surprised so many people are so against this sacking, we were certain of relegation under Clarke, the football is some of the worst I’ve seen and the squad he’s put together for this season is crap, sacking him was the only chance of avoiding relegation and I for one am more than ready to see something new

Still gutted after yesterday's news. A decision the club will probably regret when we are struggling to get out of league 2 next year.
Undecided on whether to turn up next week. I'm likely to give it a miss for a while but part of me wants to be there to what reaction there is from the fans.

I am astonished; but only because I thought DC was provoking the owners with a deliberate “back me or sack me” ploy and I didn’t think they’d spend the money to sack him. Nobody else has pointed out that this could be a good sign. That is, if they are prepared to pay him off, they seem to care enough about relegation to spend some money on avoiding it. Whether or not sacking DC is a good idea, it may mean they are prepared to back a new manager in January. I don’t think they want a budget option, because keeping DC was a cheaper option than paying up his contract and hiring anybody new. The cheapest option was keeping DC regardless of results. Perhaps they think getting relegated will harm the value of their investment [sorry, loans]. that had c4ossed my mind actually but given his press conference they really didn't have a choice (and I suspect he knew that when he decided to do it).

Spend what money though?? We must be right up near our FFP allowance, so unable to spend. We will go down this season I don't know how many times I have to post this on the forum, but there are easy ways around the FFP allowance in Leagues One and Two, if the willingness is there. "The FL Turnover figure includes donations from the owners to the club and injections of equity" www.financialfairplay.co.uk/scmp.phpSo we need the owners to GIVE money to the club.......

You call it giving. I call it investing. More money = less chance of relegation = more chance of progressing = more value placed on the club = owners cover their investment. Happy days.

That's me done. Starting to regret this season's season ticket anyway. It might do us good for the short term but long term is definitely a bad move for us. I really think this is the beginning of the end of my love affair with Rovers. Thanks Al Qadi's, really appreciate it. Why don't you do us all a favour and just f**k off. This
