Suppose it proves one thing tho all the ‘inciders’ on here clearly know NOTHING and their ‘links’ to the so called corridors of power are well and truly dead. They’d of loved this scoop. Maybe this is the news that knowall was talking about as he said something would happen this month!

This thread is like the BBC the day after the Brexit Vote. Yes DC nice down to earth bloke, but wasted money by signing less than average players and then playing them out of position. Whenever I have made a mistake I have had to pay for it, he has made mistakes, and he has paid for it. Unlike him I have never had a "settlement"

Been keeping away from here over past two weeks but this has stirred me back in. Missed Saturday and guessed what it would be like on here but DC has paid the price of many failures on the part of other people and his own bad run. The club’s statement is written by the club and will have been written by the owners so I don’t take too much notice of that. It’s marginally better than the statement accompanying Ian Holtbys leaving the club but not much in view of what DC has done for us. Pretty sure DC would not have gone willingly 100% but on this occasion I guess confidential clauses will be in place to stop him telling the truth or at least an “alternative version”! The owners and those around them now need to do something and rely upon someone else other than DC to carry the can. They never had a plan B for when the ground went down I only hope they have a plan B for what to do when DC isn’t there to dig them out of a hole. That at least should be interesting to watch. I hope that those that wished him gone are happy. Football is a results business so I understand (don’t agree with it but...) why he has gone. But I hope we don’t get a multitude of “I told you so...”, those who’ve recently joined the call for him to go is one thing but it’s those calling for him to go last season or even before that were wrong and made a bad situation worse. But it’s all about opinions and I hope the opinions stretch wider than Ian Holloway or some other guys on the managerial merry-go-round. And I guess you never know what you’ve got until you haven’t got it. Sad day imo. Thank you DC for giving us a great 4 years, for two promotions (we’ve only ever had 6 altogether), for recreating the Rovers spirit and giving us back a team we could be proud of. There are some “downs” but today is not the time to go over them. I wish him every success in the future. UTG! How far are you going back? In our league history since 1920. 1950s, 1973-4, 1989-90, 2006-07, 2014-15 and 2015-16. UTG!

I hope not. He's not management material in my eyes. I'd rather Hargreaves took temporary charge. However, what I'd really rather do is pretend DC is still our manager!! Lee Mansell, maybe? Mansell should have been released at the same time as Lawrence. If the club is having a clear out, Mansell should be near the top of the list to go.

He has been a legend but you have to look at the bigger picture
Darrell’s form has been shocking and for the last 2 seasons you can see he’s lost the players.. I personally think he turned us into a club that no one wants to loan players to us... Colkett/Telford/sweeney/jak/mcburnie/bola All players never got enough game time and a couple of them could have been with a view to buy Darrell went from one or two players in the team selection that shouldn’t have been in there to 4-5 players or players in the wrong position? Nicholls constantly being picked Lockyer have howlers and still being picked Smith in goal and can’t command his 6 yard box let alone his 18 Sercombe on the left? Clearly one of the best centre midfielders in this league Craig was a bad signing as too small and can’t pass wind let alone a ball to feet 20 yards Mensah is never gonna be league 1 standard I’m looking forward to a fresh look on the squad and have a good go at the rest of the season even though we’ll probably end up in league 2

Very sad as love DC however his interview on Saturday smacked of "I m a celebrity get me out of here" He will get a decent job maybe Plymouth. All the best DC you are a legend, your attitude is tremendous and you will always get a hero s welcome at the UWE.

It's typical Rovers, other clubs have a new manager already lined up, we start a recruitment process which sounds like it'll take weeks, just as it did when Trollope got the sack.

It is very sad to see Darrel go, but after we went 1-0 down to Doncaster you could see the players heads drop and especially in the second half and I think it would have been very difficult for Darrel to get the team back to winning ways. The Owners I think are partly to blame by not delivering and causing confusion throughout the club with their lack of honesty , what is the problem with telling it as it is, instead of all this confusing innuendo.

This whole sorry saga is like an iceberg...only 10% showing out the water. You will be missed Darrel, some managers do sweet f.a at a club. You took us down but brought us back. You are better off out of it, take Marcus and start doing good things with a club owner that cares. You will be missed. ******** Wael, hang your head in complete and utter shame ********
