I just want January to be over with so I can stop deluding myself we might get a loan player in, GC has said a few times he won’t bring in for the sake of it.. Surely being relegation isn’t just for the sake of it? In other words GC has been told like DC was that their not willing to spend money and players would need to go out if so... I personally think they gave GC a 2 and half year contract because a new manager would need promises of spending etc and GC would just be happy have the number one job and try his luck with no investment... I can’t see any movement this window apart from smith going on loan and nowt in the summer as the clubs finances are in the sh** again

If Finances are tough I am not why the club employs both a Chairman and a CEO, if cutbacks are needed before freeing up funds for players then a rationalisation plan should include the consideration of dropping one of those positions.

Put it this way, I'd be very surprised if we don't bring anyone into the football club over the course of the window. We've lost Martin so that will free up FFP space for us to get us a loan in at least.

CEO & Chairman salary come out of a separate fund than players wages which are directly linked to turnover. I'm starting to sense the Chairman's days are numbered or he's just taken a long break over the festive season.

A positive for us on Saturday.
Preston North End have signed goalkeeper Connor Ripley from fellow Championship club Middlesbrough for an undisclosed fee.
Ripley spent the first half of the campaign on loan at Accrington, making 24 appearances for the club.

Rumours about that they would like crazy Steve to leave, Martyn starnes seems to be doing everything.

Of course he’s been given for job because of what he’s done, if you seen any other of my posts your see I’m all for GC I’m just saying that they probably didn’t need to promise anything to him to get the job was a bonus, that’s all DC went on about being let down financially and he said no players would be coming in this window. I think the board are just running on empty and the cost of installing some infrastructure with u23’s and back room staff etc with no more revenue streams means we’re at our limit now that last summers budgets blown.

But when you say we should sign everyone you’re gonna be right at some point. In the last year you’ve been most adamant that we should sign: - Corey Whitley - Reise Allassani As of yet- they’ve shown little to suggest that they’d provided any value.
I think there is a big difference between bringing a (possibly) unknown player to the clubs attention, and saying who we definitely should sign.
I see a lot of lower league/conference football and overseas games, and Pirate has mentioned lots of players that were not on my radar.
I personally take Pirates posts as a starting point for the club to follow up on and that can only be a good thing if the club use it.
Agreed- I’m not knocking him and I enjoy his recommendations. They often lead me through a Youtube worm tunnel of online scouting. But on the one to say “I’ve reccomended Vardy” and numerous others... that needs context. The ones that work out- “I said we should sign him” The ones that don’t- “I only say they should be on our radar”

Bristolian Danny Rose leaving Pompey. Interesting to see where he ends up. Maybe Exeter or FGR?

Accrington have signed Middlesbrough striker Luke Armstrong on loan until the end of the season.
Armstrong spent the first half of this season on loan at Gateshead in the National League, scoring 10 goals in 18 appearances.

Danny Rose would be a tremendous signing, a Bristol boy who went to Manchester United captained their 2nd team, a creative midfielder, something we are crying out for. Hmm have we moved any of the unwanted out yet ? probably not.

Approaching mid January and have we even been linked to anyone yet? The likes of Scunny clearly had deals lined up weeks in advance and got them concluded in the first week of the window. I suspect we'll see one, maybe two, last minute uninspiring loans. 😟

Cambridge United have signed Aston Villa forward Rushian Hepburn-Murphy on loan until the end of the season.
The 20-year-old has played seven times for the Championship side this season, working with U's boss Colin Calderwood while he was assistant at Villa Park.
Hepburn-Murphy has been with Villa since the age of nine, making his Premier League debut as a 16-year-old.
What a signing that is. I would've had him here for sure.
