People will go to the final, it's a day out to watch the gas. Still like others have said it's 3 games away.
Our league status far more important imo.

Really hoping we don’t get there. I have boycotted this - even last night with the game only a 45 minutes drive for me. However I would come under huge emotional pressure from my young lads who are already begging me to take them if we are playing at Wembley. They are just about too young to fully understand my reasons for not wanting to go, which makes it even harder. I’m sure there are others in the same boat as me.

Not a fan of the early rounds but would I go to Wembley? You bet. Mainly to take my lad, who wasn’t here for our last visit. That's a conversation I had with a mate at work. He asked if I was one of the people boycotting (I am) BUT Hugo the Younger will definitely want to go. What to do...

Not sure what type of Gashead you are but denying young children a chance to see there favorite team play at Wembley takes some believing. You do realise that boycotting Wembley only effects you and your family. I am sure those in power won't look at your boycott of the game and change anything.

I wonder if you'll be saying that when we are playing Man City B at the Etihad in front of 100 home fans in a few years time.

My first instinct was to boycott last season which I did. This year I realised that putting money into the pocket of my football club was vital, so I've gone.
The Premier league have no interest in what we do nor do they need to. The formation of that league was the first step in changing football in this country forever and I don't hear many boycotts of sky sports, bt and match of the day.
If there's an opportunity to support the club I'd take it even if it meant dragging myself to a miserable part of North London to visit the lifeless bowl that pays homage to corporate football i this country.
Sunderland had the best answer to this competition in the way that they swept aside Newcastle last night. Come back when you've grown up boys.

Same argument from those who say "well, my vote on its own won't change anything" - if enough people individually boycott this farce of a tournament then they may well change things. It's already talked about in the press after every round, now it just needs a poor final turnout to hammer the point home.

I’ve said many times that I boycott all games in this daft competition as it’s only existence is to aid the growth of prem kids and eventually have them integrated into the lower leagues. I will not attend Wembley if we get there , if your kids are disappointed about not going to Wembley , they’ll get over it , the bigger picture will upset them far more.

I suspect that you and I would be joined by a good number of Gasheads if we get to Wembley. Guess that would depend on opposition partly. Would imagine we would struggle to take over 10k against one of the U21 teams. Maybe 15k-20k against an actual side. Either way will be far down on previous finals. Get Sunderland and the place would be rocking to the rafters

The Prem teams/EFL have bribed the league teams by upping the prize money and covering the costs
Each EFL Club to receive a participation fee of £20,000, in addition to the following competition fund
Group Stage: £10k for a win and £5k for a draw
Round Two: £20k for a win
Round Three: £40k for a win
Quarter Final: £50k for a win
Runner-up: £50k
Winner: £100k

The problem being that by paying to watch games in this competition and attending, you're effectively voting with your feet for the introduction of U21 teams in lower league competitions, including the league itself. That sounds strong but it's very much the case. The Premier League are starting to have interest in what we do as they see it as opportunity to blood youngsters, with many clubs hording them off lower league clubs for fun. Forget any ridiculous suggestion that this is in any way to benefit the national team. It's simply to allow them to retain youngsters for as long as possible and develop assets without having to play them in the first team. Longer term this will reduce opportunities for lower league clubs to loan talent from the top tiers of the game and will inevitable make it far more difficult for a club like ours to progress to Championship level or beyond. As another poster as highlighted, it's an insult to the history and prestige of the football league that clubs with rich histories are effectively being used to give kids from the financially bloated Premier League a chance of a competitive run out. Supporting the club's long term interests is paramount and if it means missing a day out at Wembley, so be it.

There are ways to support the club financially and not attend. A boycott is the only true way to send the correct message to the EFL that their format is not welcome by a majority of the paying public that help fund their full member clubs in the lower two divisions. By giving EFL funds, are you helping or not helping the current format?

So to do a total boycott of the Premier league we need to stop "loaning" their players and only Loan players from the EFL. Did you watch any games when we had the 2 Chelski lads playing for us ? Are you watching games which have our top striker from Watford in ? If so you are supporting our premier clubs DIRECTLY ! So a case of double standards me thinks

Sadly, if we get to Wembley then Gas will probably turn up in numbers. That's because, like fans of all clubs (Blackpool being a recent exception), the commitment to the cause makes us so easy to exploit.
I'm pretty fatalistic on this, a future where the only Bristol "derby" will be against their B team.
