I think a few on here have bought into his story more than his performances. He wasn't a starter under DC and he isn't a starter under GC. Worth remembering that GC has made changes and was the defensive coach working with Broadbent daily. He is an adequate CB for this division and/or a good CB for L2. If it's not a loan I would assume he just wants first team football, nothing more, nothing less. He is replaceable so wouldn't worry too much and thank him for his service. If it's that easy to sign a dominate ball playing CH why did DC ever sign Craig? I guess we've got Rollin as back up but we've seen so little of him this season it's impossible to know if he's progressing or not. Clearly not dominant enough for DC or GC to select him.

I’m not too happy about him going permanently for no fee. I accept he is at the stage of his career where he needs to be playing week in week out but I was hoping that he’d get that through a loan or even some game time with us rather than elsewhere. He has untapped potential, a big, powerful central defender that was supremely confident on the ball and good in the air, made the occasional mistake but never got the game time to iron them out. In my opinion, he was the long term successor to Craig and had a bright future with us. I wish him all the best but this could really come back to bite us, especially with no fee. I'd be very surprised if Swindon manage to make money off of him.

If it’s true that we are letting him go for free then I have to say we are officially the worst team in the world to do transfers. We let our best players go for peanuts or for free. We then just allow our other players to go for free as well. Yet, if we wanted to sign a back up CB from a L2 team it would cost us £100k no doubt. I honestly can't see how we could expect a fee for what our management see as a bench warmer who could leave for free in the summer anyway? I assume if it is a case of 1 out/1 in then we have to let some leave, even if 1 or 2 moves do come back to bite us we'll still, hopefully, be a Div 1 side when if it does.

In today’s market he’d get a 50k fee. Even if we could get a token fee we could use that towards something this January that would at least help. The problem is (and this is in no offense to you personally - just an example) but every time we get f*cked in the transfer market, there is always a poster like yourself who says ‘I don’t see what else the club could have done’ - my issue is that we seem to be the only club who gets their pants pulled down every single time. This can’t be a coincidence that every time we are crap in the transfer market. And we will carry on being crap if no one talks about t and we just keep saying ‘well I don’t see what else we could have done here’

Really like Broadbent but a ball playing centre back is clearly not what GC wants at the moment.Good luck Tom,I think you will do very well with Swindon and be regarded as “one that got away” in the very near future.

Not the first disappointment we've had in a transfer window and won't be the last...probably won't even be the last disappointment we have in THIS window.

He needs game to learn and improve. Whether he becomes a regular player ina lg1 or lg2 team time will tell. Hope he does well and enjoys a rewarding pro career

Menayese is probably seen as the better prospect and worth time developing. About time he was given some game time. Difficult to give him game time in the middle of a relegation battle, especially when our current first choice centre defence pairing is playing well and keeping clean sheets

Social media reacting like we’ve let Sercombe go on a free. Can’t remember the last time he made a league appearance

He’s 27 and hasn’t really progressed or developed at all under us, I don’t really mind him leaving.
I’d rather see Menayese get some game time.
