Whilst Lockyer maybe isn't captain material, he is definitely good enough for a league one team and is far from our biggest problem.
Our problems are signing the likes of Payne, Upson and Rodman. 3 experienced pros who are have been massive failures and failing to take responsibility. Lines is another one, who doesn't lead the team enough given his experience.

Lockyers a yes man not a leader! Yes, Should have sold Lockyer ages ago. Broadbent would have been better oh wait he's gone. Swindon site "Broadbent started the game just a day after joining the club from Bristol Rovers and was a colossus at the back in the second half as the home side piled the pressure on"

It is because Craig is so slow, he sits a yard or 2 further back than he needs to, which sucks back Locks and creates a void between the midfield which we have to fill with a DCM. Which then sucks the creativity from the middle of the pitch. I’m not sure if you watch from a seated position, but if you do, you should be able to spot that a mile off. Wycombe yesterday weren’t that creative, but Jombati was so confident and tall it meant they picked a much higher line and it meant that their midfield was the first to every ball and they drove forward at every opportunity. It should have been 2-0 to them as well but some how their striker managed to miss from 3 yards with an open goal and actually sent the ball backwards from under his foot. According to the stats I have just looked at online we have the 6th best defence in the league and we have the second worst offence in the league. So to be honest I don't give a monkeys whether you are standing or sitting on a match day, this tells us where the real issue is. I'm not saying the defence should not get any blame, for me both Locks and Craig's distribution is extremely poor which does not help our offensive play but during a game there are plenty of opportunities going forward that we don't make count and that is not the defence's problem. The other stat that backs up what I am saying is the fact that most of our goals this season have been scored by defensive players. If it wasn't for those goals we'd be dead and buried already. Stats can be misleading. I could use Bonham's MOTM stats to say that he has covered over how poor our defending has been all season for example. For me, our only decent defender all year has been James Clarke. None of the rest of them have been that great, despite the stats.

Nobody is showing any form of leadership in the dressing room bar JC with his constantly giving 100% on the pitch!

I agree that our problems are also upfront. I guess what I was saying is that our problems are not only up front. I've seen a lot of people saying that if we score more we will win more, and I'm just countering that with the idea that that may not be the case. I've seen a lot of people on here cite the stat that we have the one of the best defences in the league and in all honesty, watching all of our defeders bar JC, I find that impossible to believe.

How many of our defenders would get in any other L1 team? Our problems will not all be solved by a goal scorer.

The lack of leaders in the squad is glaringly obvious. There isn't anyone that stands out to replace Lockyer for me. A situation that needs to be addressed in the summer no matter what league we are in.

I don’t think the main problem is the defence, we simply do not possess a game changer, someone who can find a pass, and certainly don’t have a goalscorer. This just adds up to very boring, predictable football

What a ridiculous post. If the armband and who wears it is the biggest problem we’ve got then I’ll take that.
The defence is not the issue. You need to look in the top 8 to find a club that has conceded less.
On the other hand, no club above us has scored less.
If our goal scoring form matched our defensive form we would be doing pretty well.
And that is somehow Tom Lockyer fault?
