For the majority of fans boycotting this farce you can't possibly go to the final, if we get there, after boycotting earlier rounds. Whilst I won't be going to a potential final what about the other 25,000 who "boycotted" but then go to the final? you always get the day trippers else the mem would be packed every week

I used to go to these games in its previous form, inc the Leyland Daf in 1990 and Millennium Stadium in 2007.......but having boycotted it since the U23's came in I wont sell my soul to the devil and attend this final.

Absolutely no surprise that Portsmouth and Sunderland were kept apart …. that's the only final that would add any credibility to this cancer of a competition. Organisers know it and Tada!!
That said …. It does provide momentum for teams over the years, wonder how many have been to a final and been promoted in that same season.

No chance of a sell- out 4k at most although Sunderland fans got no sense so probably will sell their allowcation. Hopefully Sunderland v Portsmouth final as majority of Pompey fans are, like us, boycotting this farce.

Fingers crossed we beat them in the league and then crash out on penalties. That is the best and only sensible option. Hope we win both …. We need the points and the cash from a Wembley visit. Confident that many of the non believers on here will go to Wembley … We might never get there again and its not our players' fault that this twisted competition is in place, They need our support.

Pompey and Sunderland are away and all cup draws are monitored for fairness. Home to Sunderland is IMO the second best draw we could have had.

I hope we get Portsmouth away in the SF and narrowly lose by a single goal. I hope Bury get a home draw against Sunderland and win. A Pompey v Bury final sounds cack, Pompey have quite a few that wouldn't attend, we won't have to have arguements on here, they don't get the Sunderland v Portsmouth final they want and hopefully the tournament is highlighted for the disgrace it is. You hope we lose??? What a strange thing for a Gashead to say!! What sort of supporter wish their team to lose? Strange.......................... One that sees a bigger picture beyond 1 game in a tournament that has been destroyed by the EFL.

What a lovely twist Harvey has just expressed in the interview!!!!! Now it is about giving the invited development players exposure in proper 1st team football so they can get loans to EFL clubs!!! He twists and turns like a twisty turny thing! Still can't see how his point helps British players though when these U21 clubs play all foreign youngstersName the Wham youngsters and Swansea youngsters who we played this season - then you'll realise you are a mile off. I had to check. Swansea played 8 GB players of the 13 that took part in the game, and WHam 7.5 of 12 (there is a half because one player is dual nationality Congolese/English). So, to be fair to Swansea and West Ham, they did play a good number of British youngsters. Without checking, I'm not sure that the Man City's of this world are as good though. My main point was though that Harvey is now twisting his story - that the competition puts these players in the window for loans, and is still nothing to do with getting B teams into the leagues. I am convinced that he will continue to twist and turn until B teams are in the league, which is what he wants.

10,000 gate at the mem could bring in £200,000- £250,000 into the club badly needed money if we did get to Wembley it could be another £300,00 - £500,000, club can't afford for fans not to go to these matches. I don't agree with under 21 teams in the competition but the best way to protest is to go with banners and chant songs letting the EFL Know what we think of them . If you go and protest the EFL will know what we think, if you don't go nobody will know what your thoughts are.
Games will be on tv what better audience could you have .

You wont be allowed to take banners in, unless they say how much we all love Harvey and his cronies.

For anyone who didn't listen to the draw live..THE question was asked.
Talksport – Tell us please though, it’s not the first step towards B teams in the EFL?
Harvey – I’m pleased you said that because I’ve nearly got a standard line.
We have said, right from the outset, that this is not about…this is not the thin end of the wedge…this is not about B teams coming into the pyramid.
This is about trying to do something proactive with one of our competitions to help the development pathway for young players.
And if the England team in four or eight years time has some players that at some stage have touched or played in the Checkatrade Trophy, a lot of people at our clubs who were brave enough to take this decision at the time should be able to look back and know that they played their part, as small as it may be.

As small as it may be? Is he talking about his cock or just talking like a cock as usual? Either way he’s still a cock!

Just seen the draw. Great to be at home, should be a good one. Hopefully the usual 2000 or so turn up. It's been really good going to these games and not having to listen to the usual whingers that turn up.
