Predictable but accurate eh.
That's fair enough. What you fail to highlight is the long term implications should U21 teams take a permanent place at the table in the EFL Trophy or the league structure. But if you don't care, that's your call.
Im not sure anyone attending the trophy games thinks its ideal to have u23's in the competition.
Hopefully though, it's not escaped your notice our club is going broke. We have owners who have demonstrated they have no money to invest and the club has to be self sustaining. Sadly it isn't. We lose money every year and we borrow against our one asset to support its existence.
Its like borrowing against your house to pay the bills without changing your income or expenses. It will only end one way.
Without the bonus of a cup run, Wembley appearance or sale of a quality player we're finished.
Despite what people may try to make you believe there's no sign of a fairy godfather investor on the horizon. This is it. It's just US and the OWNERS.
A Wembley final would potentially earn us enough money to get us through the close season. to allow us to start the season on an even keel.
One day the prospect of our league being tampered with may occur. If it does I'll protest and complain if it seems right to.
At the moment I will support the club to ensure its there to have those arguments. My biggest fear at the moment is we might not be. Just because we've got out of the deep stuff before is no guarantee we'll manage it again.
My philosophy is to fight the battles in front of you before fearing the far off future.
