At least we wont have to worry about a relegation battle. The club clearly showed its hand today hani's hand with 2 fingers up

Ultimately, whether it’s been a good or poor transfer window will be judged by where we finish in May. GC has worked with this lad before and must feel confident he can score or unlock the goals needed to keep us up. At the end of the day, it’s his job that is at stake as I’m sure relegation would mean a new manager. Talk of Pitman, Harrison Stockley and cheeky bids for 1 million pound players are ridiculous. Supporters need to be realistic in what this board are willing to provide. We have had enough transfer windows to realise that now.

I expected a real show of intent and ambition from our board but again- we are left scraping the barrel Seriously why did you expect that when DC warned us the wage budget was being cut not increased? He also said that we wouldn't sell Taylor for 10 million

I’m pleased with this signing. First saw him playing for Coventry youths against us and he was head and shoulders above the other players on the pitch. Have followed his career since and I believe that he’s a bit of a “rough diamond” who can mature into a very good player. Does a lot of running , gives 100% and is very strong. Just the sort of player we need to lead the line, bringing other player into play.

Bloody Hell give the bloke a chance he will be wearing the famous quarters and might turn out to be the answer. Welcome JCH and good luck UTG.

Looks like a reasonable signing to me, also the fact that he is permanent rather than just another loan is also a positive move. I do think some of us forget where we are at the moment, I’m afraid to say if we had signed Ronaldo and Messi some on here still wouldn’t be happy

I don’t know anything about him so I’ll wait until I’ve seen him play before deciding how good he is. But this thread seems to have already decided he isn’t good enough. I expect a lot of the naysayers are the same ones who also wrote Bonham off when he signed and that one has worked out well enough. I know he might turn out to Payne no. 2 but let’s wait and see.

My worry would be that if GC was so confident he will score the goals needed to keep us up then why has it took until the last hour to sign him. Or did we have other targets that turned us down, and this was a last resort?

Haha this is where we see everyone turn from fuming about not signing anyone, to fuming about who we’ve signed before they’ve even seen him play. Quite rich from somebody who was slagging my opinion off about the Wycombe game when you hadn't seen the match itself!!

The majority of moves are not in form players at their clubs for goodness sake! What do some belters on here expect? Do you honestly think clubs will sell in form 20 a season strikers to us? Two hungry lads looking to prove themselves for two of our top earners who were not proving themselves. Decent business? We'll find out giving them every encouragement while doing so. I expected a real show of intent and ambition from our board but again- we are left scraping the barrel Do you have WiFi on your planet?

Welcome to our famous club JCH
Wear the famous quarters with pride and we will support you
For me, the most important move was getting rid of Payne
Lack of ability I can tolerate
Lack of ability AND an attitude problem made him a problem within the squad
There’s enough ability in this squad to keep us up
Let’s get behind them and give this lad a chance.

Just the sort of player we need to lead the line, bringing other player into play. He will be 25 in July, had loads of clubs and failed to score regularly at any of them. If this is the guy to keep us up then god help us. Cov fans glad to see the back of him. Hardly inspiring.

I just can't believe we've managed to sign the biggest Payne lookalike we could find!

I hate seeing the reaction on forums from the teams the players have come from.. When Payne came here shrews fan were saying he was lazy and doesn’t jump for the ball
And now looking on Coventry’s their fans are offering him a lift down here...

He cannot be any worse than Payne. Two decent enough signings all things Considered. We still need a winger in and hopefully the loan wibdow will provide.
Good luck JCH

If this is all we can muster up then we’re down. Raiding Coventry reserves what have we come to. 29 appearances and 6 goals is hardly a reserve player!

I just can't believe we've managed to sign the biggest Payne lookalike we could find! Well if the messiah would’ve done his recruitment right last summer we wouldn’t be in this mess and Payne wouldn’t of been anywhere near our club.

I don’t understand all the negativity now. An hour ago I did. But we’ve signed what we’ve been crying out for. A target man who can score a few goals, granted his scoring record doesn’t scream 20 goals a season at this level but it says he’s capable of 10-15. I’ve actually got a really good feeling about this lad and think him and TN will compliment eachother very well. It's been a dream window really. Not only did we get to moan incessantly for a whole month, by shipping a few unwanted players out, we also got to moan about those players, and we also got to moan that they were leaving. Then by leaving it to the last minute of the final day, we got to moan, not just normal moaning, but proper professional-level high-intensity moaning right up to last last moment, then we got to moan that the window had closed and we didn't sign anyone (probably the highlight of the entire month for the seasoned moaners), and then by signing someone that most of us really have no clue about we get to moan about virtually any aspect of the player we care to pick on. And all this can go on over a rough background of underperformance, underinvestment, and underachievement. It's like Rovers are the perfect club for some people. Also, I'd like to moan that the guy is selfishly taking up three surnames when most players make do with one, leaving players like Alexander-Arnold having to use two first names.

If DC did it right whilst simultaneously its the Al Qadis fault for not spending any money
