Correct. Money = Feet Always amazes me that consumers of any type (sporting / retail) etc seem to massively undervalue themselves and the power they ultimately hold. People seem quite happy to go along with the status quo as 'well, what difference could little old me possibly make?!' . Madness. So if the premier league offered £1m Per club to allow their B teams to play in our leagues do you think the EFL/Bristol Rovers Owners will say Hold on we don't want to upset Henbury Gas, we must turn it down for the sake of our supporters.... £1m Per season, Per club is NOTHING to the Premier League and EVERYTHING to a small club like ours there are 72 league teams. so where are say 16 B Teams going to slot in? will there be a new division say 4 divisions of 22? would we end up moving down in the pyramid?
if there was an extra £1m a season per club, it would probably force player wages up and ultimately changes nothing. only x number of teams can go up and fans will still expect x players and managers to do better and or be sacked, only now in a bastardised lop sided 'competition' where some teams can't get promoted beyond the championship
Money doesn't solve everything, I mean even now fans expect the Al-Qadi's to fork out more and more

How do we know if the 250k so far from this trophy paid for the Coventry striker ? . Also how do we know if we reach Wembley and play Pompey and raise £750k it might not only prevent our best players leaving but allow a bigger budget for 2019/20. I know this is a simplistic question but how the hell can a team like us raise £1 million ??.
Oh I see let's boycott the games and sell our best players and drop back to division two. Until I get a persuasive argument how to generate income . I will support my team and hope 35000 do on MARCH 31ST in London...

TBH I am a bit bemused by all the posts/threads on this forum about this competition. Not sure where any of this angst with each other is getting us as supporters of the same club. To me it is quite simple - you go/don’t go according to how you see it. Live and let live I say. For the record I don’t go as I am against the concept and where it might lead. Will it do any good? Don’t know, time will tell. But - if my feelings are against it how can I attend? It’s as simple as that to me. Likewise if people think differently to me I respect and understand why they do. And why they attend. End of. Simples. We all know the arguments for and against. Continually repeating them will just get us all frustrated. IMO. However, as I ain’t the Forum thought Police it’s not up to me to say what anyone posts, but I do wonder how going around in circles is helping us? I haven’t seen any new rationale posted on this thread that we haven’t seen or debated previously. Just seems we are getting more upset with each other when we need to have more togetherness given what we face in the bigger picture. Onwards......

As long as Rovers are in the competition (A competition format they voted against) they should be professional and try to win and obtain prize money
that doesn't make the competition right or mean it should be supported by the fans. Remember the PL clubs are bribing the clubs by paying costs in the early rounds precisely because the clubs make no money with low attendances

It's a joke of a competition run by an absolute . DC showed what he thought of the competition when he put sub goalie Puddy on v Portsmouth in the first few minutes.....which then brought about a fine! Even if the long-term ramifications are ignored, we got fined for making a substitution for gods sake!! Treat this thing with the contempt it deserves and instead the club should work harder to play the Premier league giants 1st teams in the FA Cup for a change.

I have heard that certain sections have been 'withheld' in case they want more. A forward move from the club !. This will work and the club needs to give Luton Charlton Barnsley as many tickets as they can... I was buying my scab tickets at the Mem today. Seems they are only opening half the ground again but this time its the West terrace and stand that will be closed. Expected crowd of 5000. You may not like this competition but isn't about time you started supporting your team and help them to a Wembley Final? Could be the last time they will ever be there and if you have kids who follow the Gas it maybe the only chance they get to see their team play at Wembley. UTG in any competition.

I understand your feeling but the problem for me is that "we all know the arguments for and against" isn't really true - that'w why the debate keeps going. I have heard very few actual arguments FOR the competition other than a few refreshing "I like B teams" ("Boycotts won't make any difference" isn't an argument for the competition) . And most arguments against are (wilfully or otherwise) misrepresented - E.G It's a "conspiracy" theory. If we as a fanbase don't play our part in standing up to the EFL and the PREM it will be another depressing push away from my belief in the value of football culture in this day and age. So continuing to try and persuade people to boycott feels necessary where ever possible.

That is EXACTLY what is happening ! Absolute joke , when the inevitable happens I hope those that have attended any games don’t have the audacity to whinge about it ! What about the fans who would welcome such an event if it ever happens ? Then they’d have nothing to whinge about would they ?

The 2 parts of the grd closed are the west terrace and southwest stand. The southwest stand could be opened if sunderland want more tickets.... Sunderland will be making a statement on Monday regarding the 2000 tickets they are selling. Currently : it's 1 ticket each in cat(s) for the 21000 season ticket holders they have. It will be interesting to see if they sell out within this 'window' or loads go on general sale . I have mentioned it on this forum and to the club about increasing away allocation. I think we will see more seats being used in the south stand if we can't sale ours ( Barnsley Luton Sund etc) . I have no objections if they want the South/west stand . Wycombe increase their numbers so did Oxford for the money Sunderland will bring...
