why? The money won’t be spent on the team etc straight in the pockets of the owners. Lol yeah because i'm sure that the money we make from matchday attendances is whats helping them keep their bank afloat! Where would they be without all the money they are stealing from the club! Have to say...credit to them - according to some, in approx 3 years, without even building a stadium, they have managed to turn the club's finances around and generate so much money that they are now able to pay off all the club's bills and still have enough leftover to line their pockets! Surely they should be up for a business award! As DC said before he left 'the highest budget I've had since I've been a manager.' Shame you can't criticise the owners constructively and instead of having to spew out such a total bs. Time you sold up Wael

Sorry but F the money...we are in the SEMI FINAL of a cup competition with the opportunity to get to Wembley and possibly win a trophy - our first trophy in forever. And some fans want to boycott that because premier league teams used U23 players!? When was the last time any of us had an opportunity to attend a cup final? Its been 11 years for me and I didn't make that one. We have been in the final of this competition twice and lost twice...and we have only been to Wembley 3 times ever! But yeah...lets boycott the semi final, trash the only competition that we have had any realistic chance of winning and give up on one of the few/only chances we have of a Rovers Wembley cup final! Curious...if the big teams were forced to play their first team players - would us being knocked out in the earlier rounds and having nothing to do with this competition from early on, have made this competition more appealing to all the Gasheads calling for a boycott? Oh its a Man City Chelsea EFL Trophy final -- YAY! At least they didn't play their U23s when they knocked us out in the 1st round and left us without a pot to water in. I'll be there for the semi supporting the boys with all i've got...just hope we aren't embarrassed by having the away fans outnumber us. UTG. Agree with what you are saying and i will be there with my Mob.. I also think a lot of people conveniently forget that we support all the big teams by loaning and playing/training there U21 players as well... but that ok.... case of double standards with some of our supporters

My memory must be on the way out, could have sworn I have seen us play Tranmere, Huddersfield, Shrewsbury and Grimsby there. Hopefully I will be able to say five times after next week's semi final. In all probability I will be there for that as well. For me after the sh** season we have had a day out at Wembley is something I would enjoy irrespective of the under 23 issue. If it happens my attendance will not influence the EFL either way, our club and it's owners will, if they are ever called upon to vote on the issue. My opinion is that it will never happen and I don't care if this 69 year old gashead who has watched the boys in the quarters since 1957 is called a scab etc etc etc by Gasheads who share a different opinion.

Man City and Chelsea aren't in this competition. Man City U23 and Chelsea U23 are. The introduction of U23 teams in this competition is a big deal. Allowing a club to essentially field two competitive teams is a fundamental change in English football which has crossed a big red line for many, and understandably. The threat to lower league football is very real and many are taking a stand and aren't prepared to engage. It's a semi final in an absolute mickey mouse competition with zero credibility. We've attended finals at Wembley twice in the last 12 years, with both games being infinitely bigger than the prospect of a final in this shower of a cup. Good luck attending next Tuesday. You'll have plenty of room on the terrace.

I fear you have misunderstood how the Premier League and other invited clubs teams are involved. It is B teams not First teams that are invited and this risks normalising the involvement of B teams in, what are for the rest of the clubs involved, First team competitions. The end result, potentially, is B teams playing in the Football league. Man City and Man Utd B teams in the Championship perhaps. Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham, etc. etc. B teams in League 1 maybe. Where would that leave us and teams like us? In the Conference or whatever tier 5 might be renamed? It happens in Spain - look at their league structure - and the mainly foreign managers of Premier League sides want it here too. That is the potential risk to us of supporting this competition and giving fuel to those that will seize on good turnouts at Checkatrade games to 'prove' that involvement of B teams in lower league First team competitions works.

The efl owners will vote for money. Most of the prem and a large percentage of efl owners dnt give two hoots about the english game at all its various levels. The majority efls 72 members will vote for money in the bank. Owners rarely listen to there fans concerns. We should no that!

The Shrewsbury promotion play off final was at Wembley. A few weeks before I was in Cardiff for the Checkatrade or whatever it was called then and we lost to Doncaster.

Topper is getting confused with the Leyland DAF/Sherpa Van trophy (or whatever it was called back in 2007) when we played Donny in the final at Cardiff, and then beat Shrewsbury in the Play Off Final at Wembley at the end of that same season. We and Chelsea were/are the only two clubs to play finals at those two venues.

NOPE ! Not missed a Final be it play offs or whatever else the tinpot Trophy was previously called but sorry feel totally different about this now my opinion and choice, but i would not deter or scorn any supporters who want to attend semi or final if we get there.

Having boycotted this competition from the start I can hardly go to the final can I? so I am preying we get knocked out next week as the thought of Rovers at Wembley with me sat at home is just too painful to even think about. We made some money but If we win next week I will fill sick as a pig so fingers crossed we get knocked out. Having said that, if we do get to Wembley I will want us to win, just feel gutted I'M not there like the majority boycotting this farce.

We and Chelsea were/are the only two clubs to play finals at those two venues. Either way they were all decent honest proper competitions and this one ain’t. It’s the start of something very bad. Unless nobody turned up. Here’s one. If only 5000 people turned up for the final they’d scrap the whole idea. Somebody tell me I’m wrong ??
