I just don't understand why so many have the knives out for Tom Gorringe.
He seems a pretty decent bloke and is arguably the only person at the top at Rovers who actually seems to do and achieve any level of success.

Taking money from the company, or taking a commission from BRFC? Getting money from a supplier is not necessarily illegal, although it could be seen as a conflict of interests in certain circumstances. Full details rather than insinuation and innuendo are needed.

"TG happily takes commission on the sponsorship he organises, which include two betting companies." Not sure if i'm, reading this statement right but i get the impression TG is getting commission from the betting Companies or am i just being stupid - don't answer that.....

Seems like a case of someone saying something completely unsubstantiated on Gaschat and it becoming fact.

I assumed we were talking about commissions from BRFC. How would TG get a commission from anyone else? or is someone trying to use the word commission as a subtle way of saying back hander?
Perhaps if people didn't actually insinuate all the time and actually spelt out what they meant, or would that be too dangerous because they might get some legal letters in their direction

I assumed we were talking about commissions from BRFC. How would TG get a commission from anyone else? I would assume he would get a bonus for achieving certain targets, not sure if that is classed as commision but i'm open to be put right

My take on the whole catering issue; since the retirement of Robert Lawrence it hasn't been as good as during his tenure; we attended hospitality for the Millwall game last season and it was of a decent standard. Unfortunately pricing has made it not feasible to repeat the event this season.
It is easy to stand and throw rocks/insults/accusations from the sideline; many people will be working hard to produce food on a matchday without the need for abuse.

UTG I can't agree with this statement, when Robert retired his job was taken up by Lynette Powell. My wife & I are both Vegans and the meals improved under her and the chef Ian who was given more of a free reign when making up menus for everyone. We are in a executive box every game and I personally think the service is top class. I believe Lynette left for some reason before Christmas and the chef Ian has also been out for sometime too, but he's soon to return. But I suppose it's a matter of opinions.

TG refused to reinstate the vegetable pastie, and this has totally ruined my matchday experience - some things just can't be forgiven or forgotten!

I hear you, we've always had great service and great food everytime we've been in Hospitality (and we go at least once a season) so please don't take my comments as being slagging off everyone there, it was probably a bad day there for me. I will be going again that's for sure.

I liked the chicken and ham pies too. The food at the Mem now is worse than it was before the "improvements". I just bring a sandwich now.

It's common practice to be paid commission on revenue and as we do not know the details of his contract it's silly to speculate
