I have no doubt that all the Checkatrade protesters were at the game yesterday and witnessed the great game we all have been waiting all season season for. It shows that the team is capable of better performances.
Before yesterdays game I would have given us no chance of beating sunderland on Tuesday.
Now I see its entirely possible, a repeat of Saturday performance yes, a repeat of the briliant atmosphere at that game ......NO.
The protesters will make sure by non attendance, that the team won't get the support or the atmosphere they so enjoyed and responded to on Saturday
One last point berfore I go into witness protection. Wael has regularly been castagated for not putting more money into the club, by carrying on this pointless protest, you are doing the same thing. The income from a Wembley final could be vital to the club. Help them to get to Wembley by creating the atmosphere against Sunderland that Gasheads are famous for.
Putting flax jacket on now.

Oh yay and now for the same old debate to rumble again. Can't we just agree to disagree? Some want to support the team regardless, some want to boycot the competition for the greater good. We won't be able to agree so let's just leave it at that shall we?

Whilst I’m feeling optimistic about our chances for survival after yesterday I’m not feeling optimistic about reaching the final of the cup which should not be named unless Sunderland choose to field a youthful or reserve team.
We played well against Portsmouth, and followed up yesterday with what was surely our performance of the season at home, yet we were blown away by Sunderland. I know many like to think we were terrible but I’m not sure we were that bad and at the time I tried to make the point this was probably a reflection of the quality and cost of the team they have put together.
Regards the boycott this cup has been our only real chance to watch our team flourish this season, so with you on feeling sorry for those who are boycotting for missing out. It’s a great shame that some are missing out on what would otherwise be a massive occasion and almost certainly a sell out because of poor decision making by those in charge of our game sat in their ivory tower.
Whilst you make many valid points which I agree with I find it hard to like due to the emotive background behind why people feel it necessary to boycott.

You don't need big attendance to create atmosphere....our away following is proof of that. However, ar away games we do have the advantage of all being in one area.
* See you at Scunthorpe for my first match of this season

Put simply, those boycotting believe that supporting the competition by attending is the same as inviting under 21 teams into the league system. They believe that would do Rovers irreparable long term harm. A bit of money isn't going to change that.

I was there yesterday and enjoyed a great performance and a much needed three points. I've been there each week the last couple of decades and supported the club financially in that time. The issue of U23 entering lower league competition is far bigger than the game this Tuesday night and may well have far bigger repercussions for lower league clubs going forward. As I've stated countless times, a line has been crossed and many aren't prepared to sacrifice their principles for a couple of games. The atmosphere argument is a non starter for me. We had over 10k present in the league game and the team didn't turn up, whilst we've clearly put good performances in this competition in front of a couple of thousands. The financial argument is poor too. There's plenty of ways to support the club financially without attending this game or any final. Any ticket price for Tuesday and the final would be split between both clubs and the EFL it's worth remembering. Our focus needs to be on next Saturday which is a significantly bigger game.

I called the protest "pointless" perhaps I should have added that its pointless NOW as there are no Under 23 teams left in the competition. I was surprised that the protest wa on all gaes not just the under 23 games. I accept its all about opinions and I have mine and will aways respect other peoples.

We were hardly "blown away by Sunderland" when they only scored after we gave away a corner, which we then poorly defended. Then gave away a cheap free kick for hand ball in a dangerous position.

hehe! Na I couldn’t let you do that! To be honest I’ve been semi glad of the protest as I’ve used it as an excuse to try and save some money! Pathetic but true!

Whilst I’m feeling optimistic about our chances for survival after yesterday I’m not feeling optimistic about reaching the final of the cup which should not be named unless Sunderland choose to field a youthful or reserve team. Clubs like Sunderland have no experience of the previous format of the competition so don't really get the whole boycott thing, hence their very well attended games in the competition. Their relegation was a dream come true for the EFL! So they are in it to win it and will play their best available team. Some are calling for the reserve/kids team to be put out. We should try and keep the momentum with a strong team. However, after both our strikers come off with knocks yesterday, unless they have 100% recovered, they should not be playing on Tuesday.

I don't believe that the protesters need your sympathy they have strong opinions on this matter and we should respect that. As regards to the match I can't see any other result than a Sunderland win, as I think we will have to field a weakened side due to JCH limping off Saturday and our perilous league position. However this is a cup game and as such anything could happen.
