Commentary on that station tomorrow, nice to have a commentator who tells us where on the pitch the ball is and more neutrality.

When I listen to radio 5 I know where the ball is, every 30 secs or so they will say "30 yards" out, centre circle, etc. On radio Bristol they just don't say, I don't understand why a commentator can't provide such basic but important info.

The commentary on radio Bristol is awful . I actually feel that just staying in the matchday thread gives me a better idea of what’s going on.

It’s almost comedic their complete basis and talking incessantly throughout the game without ever mentioning what’s going on re the game . I’ve stopped listening. Gaschat is less irritating . Utg

Heard that Hamer was drafted in about three months ago to negotiate Brexit ... What could possibly go wrong?

Colin Howlett is sorely missed.

I think some of the above is harsh. We are quite lucky to have commentaries for every match. I presume there are loads of league 1 clubs who don't get it, certainly around the north west. But if anybody involved is reading this... Just tell us where on the pitch the ball is, it's easy surely.

Decent commentary : “ Liverpool with the ball out wide on the left , a pass in to the center circle, a long drifted ball out to the right , taken down , Salah beats his man crosses in to the box cleared away but only as far as the half way line.
Radio Bristol commentary: “ well there’s a good turn out of Rovers fans here , Rochdale are actually playing in yellow socks today , they usually play in blue but there must have been a clash in sock colour so things are looking a bit different. I remember a game I think probably in the late 1980s here when I think it was a goal from .... well I can’t actually remember but Rovers won 1-0 AND OLLY CLARKE PLAYS THE BALL OFF OF A DEFENDER FOR A THROWIN!”

FWIW I enjoy radio Bristol commentary... Talksport will be interesting to listen to, seeing what views they give on our layers etc. Could have Ollie on there

Well after 5 minutes I turned talk sport off and switched back to radio Bristol. Apparently “ Bristol were homeless whilst the memorial ground was having improvements” One of many annoying things I heard .

At least talkSPORT 2 you can listen on your phone unlike that stupid 10 second repeating line on the bbc local stuff!

Unfortunately it doesn’t matter whether you listen to radio Bristol or talk sport I’ve tried both and we sound terrible on both.
