I can understand the frustration here after that bollox but people need to remember that it’s not GC’s players, and it appears that he has done exactly what it says on the tin ugly crap football but kept us up! Job done in my opinion, he’s our manager for next season wether we like it or not, so let’s give the man chance as he now has the summer to sort out the dead wood (sorry forrest!). Give the man a chance I say before we write him off before we even kick a ball next season! UTG! As a former centre half, and given his treatment of players with a bit more flair about them (although I don't disagree with letting Bennett leave) I suspect it won't be any different next season- just that GC might get in a better standard of clogger than he has had available to him this season. I certainly wouldn't expect champagne football from a GC team, I hope I'm proved wrong though.

Lol
GC said himself what the football would be like this season. His job was to keep us up, which it looks like he has. Can't judge him properly until next season!

Let’s put it like this under DC we would’ve been relagated by now,I would have took this position when GC took over wouldn’t of you lot? Inherited a out of form squad playing crap football, now he’s grinned out results that will most likely keep us up🙏 Made a great signing in JCH and we still got 2 very exciting games left, let’s all now take over fleetwood and then pack the mem to make sure we do our bit UTG Nothing to grin about today!

Fickle - adjective adjective: fickle; comparative adjective: fickler; superlative adjective: ficklest changing frequently, especially as regards one's loyalties or affections. Christ, I agree with this.

Not overly convinced on GC myself, but he is limited in options and has had to grind out results. Summer recruitment will be interesting

I'm happy to give GC the benefit of the doubt for now. His remit was to keep us in the division and it looks like we'll just about stumble over the line. Personally I can't wait for this horrible season to be over, I've only enjoyed a few games and definitely won't be buying a season ticket for next season. I want to see what type of player he brings in during the summer, if it's just big cloggers with no flair/creativity and the same style of football then I will probably find something else to occupy my Saturday afternoons.

The obsession with Lines is hilarious as it is baffling. He hasn’t had a single decent performance all season, arguably one of our worst players the last 18 months (Blackburn at home aside) If you think he is the answer to our problems, I’m sure glad you don’t pick the side. The last thing we need when we’re up against it is a Hollywood passer of the ball, playing on the toes of Tom Lockyer who ducks and jumps out of challenges like a 6 year old.
You won’t see him running games like Steven Gerrard 2005, just because he’s from Filton Ave & has a catchy terrace chant attatched to him. I’ve never had anything against the lad, he’s just far past it now, inevitably off in the summer and Gasheads need to let it go. Radio Bristol callers in particular.

My concern is quite simple. If we got decent players would GC have the tactics to go with it. Sometimes you can look at games and see what the plan is and look back and say that would have worked with decent/intelligent players. I just cannot see the plan

You do the best with the tools at your disposal and use those tools for the job they are made for, that is what GC has done and baring a crazy set of circumstances it has achieved the end result we hoped for, Ipswich fans didn't like McCarthy's style and mid table finishes, Stoke got bored with Pullis's style which kept them out of trouble , sack for both and relegation , so lets give GC the chance next season and be grateful for our presumed survival eh?

I think gc has done what he has done to keep us up. However moving forward I can’t watch 3 years of this would rather go down and come back up again playing some better football than this dross

Not a single player came out of today with any credit whatsoever, if it was a sign of things to come then we will indeed be knackered. Ollie Clarke? Olly played well today I thought James Clarke did too. That’s all.

Thing is he’s been our best playmaker for the last 4 seasons and our top assists player too. You cant drop a player like that and then not bring in a replacement and expect to still create loads of chances and control games. This is our biggest problem this season. All of our central midfielders lack creativity and vision.

But even when D.C. was here he played Lines in front of the back four when he hasn't got a tackle in him! Lines is best going forward with defensive midfielders alongside him. He is being released at the end of the season in any case! Therefore we need to move on.

Clarke left us with 7central midfield players and Rodman who has been in and out of the team He left us with Nichols; Reilly and Payne up front with Jackubiac not playing because he couldn't score "tap ins" Defensive wise he left us a mixed bag of a one legged left back and a non league right back.
time for a clear out

Just that one incisive ball or decent free kick that we know he can produce when we were on top in the second half would have won it for us even though we weren’t playing great. I think DC would have realised this but for someone reason he can’t get a game at all under Coughlan.

May have been a bit harsh, but Ollie was still way off the standard he set for himself on Friday. Defenders weren't too bad, although not sure how much Rochdale really tested them.
