The conference dont have to accept them if they dont want How does that work? Its a different league just like the PL and the EFL. If the EFL boot out Bolton or Coventry, there is nothing to say the National League has to have them

If they do end up in L1 they should have a 15-point deduction like Saints did, minimum.

He's not exactly a 'trenches' type player, though, is he? I bet if we had him here, despite everyone wanting him, as soon as we lost a game everyone would be complaining that he wasn't digging it out on our 18 yard line. Far too creative for our current set up! I would rather sign Jon Nolan from Ipswich, although they would both be assets to their current clubs in L1 next season

If the EFL just did that the legal people would be all over the decision like a rash. I would have thought that Bolton would need to go into admin fairly soon before they get completely asset stripped from the creditors. UTG!

And in all this shambles it is the true fans that suffer. The true fans enjoyed the glory when Bolton were in the Prem, chucking about the insane amounts of money, that eventually led to where they are now.

Just an update of the situation.... Bolton can't play (re-arranded game v brentford) dispite a proposed takeover, therefore meaning they can't complete their fixtures (I won't explain as it's complicated) before the weekend.... What a bloody mess that club are in.... www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48103967

What would other clubs feel if there was something on the game.

the National League will not take any club who is guilty of financial irregularity, or is in debt. Hence Hereford

They should do as in Germany, where the club gets relegated to a division they can afford to play in, which in Bolton's case will be well below the National league. As an example, the club local to me, Offenbach Kickers (similar size club to Rovers) were relegated to the Regional League for having a debt of 6 million Euro !

So Bolton's potential saviour has previously been bankrupt twice, done for financial irregularities, and banned for 3 years. What could possibly go wrong?

Yes, it’s incedible that the EFL are even considering that he is possibly a fit and proper person after all that stuff in his history. I’m just surprised that the EFL haven’t been stronger on this (well, I’m not that surprised) because this is a recurring problem with Bolton. They really need to be made to go into admin and make a fresh start even if it’s in League 2 or even lower. With this guy it will happen again and the whole cycle starts again. Crazy. UTG!

Not sure the EFL have the powers to make a company go into Administration, although they seem to be now heading that way anyway. It does make you wonder why Bassini wants to get involved in such a basket case club.

Hereford went to the Sussex league as neither the then Conference or Southern leagues would not accept them because of their finances. They won the Wessex league, Both divisions of the Southern league and got themselves in National league North where they sit with Darlington; Stockport; Bradford Park Avenue; Boston United; Kidderminster; Chester; and York City are (almost League 2 part 2)

Big Sam consistently kept them around mid-table in the Prem for years but they decided they wanted to go to the ‘next level’ and look where it’s got ‘em. UTG!

Pretty sure the Oystons didn’t instigate it. I know it’s a different case and probably different circumstances but even so. Whatever, a complete basket case of a club at the moment. UTG!
