Only being connected with plymth because they play in the same colours as his homeland country and the club he supports, Celtic, probably the reason why he stayed with them so long. Seriously why would he leave us to go to a league 2 club.

This from the Plymouth owner in the Plymouth Herald: He said: “If the right guy was at another club and it wasn’t appallingly expensive we would certainly consider it. I don’t want to say more than that. Please, please, please.

Seriously why would he leave us to go to a league 2 club. Same reason we'd swap the Mem for a decent ground and owners if the cost was Div 2 football? In a couple of years time Plymuff could have a Championship set up meanwhile we'll have a poor, at best, Div 2 set up.

I think most fans would get over his departure pretty quickly.

I think most fans would get over his departure pretty quickly. Until our new manager started losing, then they would all pretend they'd wanted GC all along.

If GC was considering Plymouth it seems a bit odd that he would go about releasing players or telling they won't get new deals at least.
Surely he could have postponed that by a week or so, taken the Plymouth job and just left it up to whoever comes next to decide who they want to offer deals to.
Personally I wouldn't blame him for leaving. We are sh**e off the pitch and Plymouth are as big a club as us with better facilities.
What's more some of our fans seem more than a little ungrateful for him keeping us up with once of the worse squads we've seen in a long time.

Personally I’ve struggled to warm to him.
Considering the job he has done- he should be adored. However, too many home matches without width have done me.

In a couple of years time Plymuff could have a Championship set up meanwhile we'll have a poor, at best, Div 2 set up. It's funny how everyone else's owners are better than ours lol. Even though thier fans moan about their owners the same. Thier ground is obviously better, but it took them years to start building the final stand, after loads of false dawn's and they already had the site. Plus Starnes was a big part of that and is now with us. They also rent thier training ground and it is worse than ours, they couldn't always train when it was raining because the drainage was rubbish, they did work on that though, so it might be better now. But they still have no changing rooms and no parking. Thier budget is smaller according to a lot of fans. Thier fans are far from happy lol. They had no scoreboard like us as well, unless it is above the away end, so we can't see it. Think because fans go to a better stadium than ours, they automatically think that the club is run better. Plus according to loads we are looking for new owners anyway lol. But in the meantime, the club has been improving in small ways. More partners doubling our sponsorship deals, raising the budget. Minor ground improvements, good season ticket marketing campaigns that won an award, improved medical team, that also just won an award. We all know we need a stadium long term, but let's stop pretending everyone else is so much better off than us. The majority of clubs have similar, or worse owners. Unless we have a sugar daddy come in, we will be no better off. Think GC might go if he feels his job is under threat here for any reason or maybe if he feels more wanted at Plymouth. He is a fans favourite thier and is getting abused all over social media by our fans. But not because they have better owners lol

Give him a chnce to sign his own player's. He said football would not be pretty this season, but he got the job done. I won't judge the football, until next season. Even then he had to try and get player's like Payne off the books.

Same reason the manager of a struggling water poor Premier League side would go to Leeds or Villa.

We don't know why the players were released - some (all) were at the end of their contracts and may of wanted to leave - who knows. He may well of been instructed 'from above' to get rid of Chris Lines and maybe one or two others which would not surprise me.

I like GC, like it’s been said above he kept us up with a poor squad and deserves much more credit than he’s getting.
Saying that he can go as long as DC returns 👀

Yeah not saying the new manager would be any better, just GC has seemed to have irked sections of the fan base in recent weeks for various reasons. I’d also rather be stay, but we wouldn’t capitulate if that’s not the case.

Apart from the ground they don't have better facilities though. What facilities do we actually have ? They don't either and the training ground they use has no parking or training facilities. So they get changed at the ground first I think and walk over. Not saying we have loads, you said they had better. They don't. We have a good medical team now that have won awards and GC praised them the other week. We have spent more on transfer fees than them, over the last few years. They have a smaller budget than us, according to thier fans and most of the free transfers they signed on the cheap, would back that up. Atleast they give thier player's better contracts and don't lose them for nothing or only get a small fee for them right?? That's why Carey and Lamerias are both out of contract. We all know we need a ground. But some fans think other clubs are so much better than us, when most are not. Thier fans moan about thier board, they just went down and are currently without a manager. That's football. Bolton in administration this week, Plymouth have been previously. Things could be a lot better, but then again, they could be a lot worse. I can see GC thinking of going back thier. But for different reasons.
