[ Doesn’t surprise me , comes across as a go getter sort of bloke. Not the mr nice guy Wael is but he gets things done. And in business that’s everything. Make no doubt, Peterborough know what they're doing in the transfer windows. It's something to be admired in lower leagues. We however... Their willingness to speculate to accumulate is admirable however their numerous additions each summer has a fairly "scattergun" feel to it. If they throw enough s**t at a wall it'll eventually stick. Reminds me of Chelsea and their hoarding of youth policy.

Always optimistic, before the start of a season we're always near the top of the league. Only because Bristol Rovers starts with a 'B'. We have no chance of challenging in the top half next season in my opinion. We've lost arguably our best player, don't have a keeper yet and struggle to score goals. We should be able to recruit well enough to keep out of trouble, but I'd accept staying up if the football is better. As for ambition, I'd like to think a comfortable mid table finish playing good football is possible. Yeah it’s definitely possible. It’s what we did 2 out of the last three seasons. Who knows , we could sign a poacher who links up with JCH , keep things tight in defence and challenge for top six. I think mid table is more likely, with more of the same style wise under Coughlan but I’d rather that than control possession in games and 1000 sideways passes in to relegation. Hopefully he’ll find the balance of grit , width, pace and creativity we so badly need. You don’t need a massive budget to do it, just get the right players in with that overall balance as a squad. I’m not convinced Cogs will do that but it’ll be interesting to see if he can.

Every chance of going up? I admire your optimism! He could join a dozen other L1 clubs and have a better chance of going up next season than if he stayed with us. Always optimistic, before the start of a season we're always near the top of the league. Wael should have bought Accrington in that case.

Very good stuff and surely somewhat implementable on here? RedCafe for United operates in a similar manner, but naturally in a much bigger capacity. Fair play to Brentford, they've done well in recent years and cemented a place in the Championship..BUT... it doesn't half stick in the craw to be patronised so much by supporters of a team we would have thought no more than equals for many decades.
Am I being over sensitive??

I think we often talk in the same way about League 2, and we've spent most of the last 18 years there.

Things can change quickly in football and most supporters have short memories. The sh** had a good season us a bad one, if they’d won promotion and we’d been relegated they’d be in the top division and us the bottom one. As it stands the new season will kick off with them only just above us in the pyramid. We went from non league to league 1 in less than a year . And so on.

Maybe slightly but I get where you're coming from. They're very well organised as and club so good for them.

Joe Day at Newport will be after a move if they don’t get promoted, I’d have him over Macey.

Do we make him an offer he can’t refuse, like JCH ?

I think there will be plenty of clubs eying him. I don’t think he’ll come to us, sadly.

Out of interest, what's the earliest you can offer a player a pre-contract for players within the same country? I know it's 6 months if you're moving abroad but is it the same if they're staying in England? The only reason I ask is because there was talk at a game in the last couple of months that we had already started discussions with Jack about potentially joining. I shrugged it off at the time as bored fans talking but I wonder now if there was something to it.

Fielding was on £8k a week apparently.
But if L1 is his level, and his injuries have played a part in him being released then he can’t expect anywhere near that.
Good goalie for this level for sure.

Got a nasty feeling he will actually. Hope not. Get him signed up Wael!!! Just a hunch and seems a good fit. Stevenage where he is originally from is not far from Peterborough. Peterborough have just put Aaron Chapman (another ex Rovers keeper) on the transfer list. They'll offer better money than us and where they are as a club probably fits in with where Jack Bonham is in his career right now. If this is the case and we managed to sign Chapman then I wouldn't be too displeased.
