Not sure why there is such negativity about Sunderland on here. Was a top trip last season, everyone was friendly, and they showered us with praise about our away support, both to our faces and online. ‘Best support to come here for years’ etc.
I presume it’s just the keyboard warriors on here who’ve never been to an away game in their lives.

Yeah. I'm gutted for Sunderland actually. Proper club with brilliant support who belong at least one division higher and probably two.
Odd how Newcastle are the media darlings whose fans are always praised. I recall them getting about 15000 in the second tier not so long ago. Sunderland's fans, like Man City's, stuck with them through worse than that.

Always had a soft spot for Sunderland after the 73 cup final and have worked with two good lads from up there, but I did have a tenner on Charlton only because the odds were better, returned £28,not to bad.

Yes, when have they been arrogant? All of them up there were unbelievably humble. They all said ‘we’re here coz we’re here’.
Showed us how to get to places, told us the best pubs, the best places to eat etc. Proper club who definitely deserve to be higher.
I guess some people need to get off their sofas and have a look.

I like Sunderland and I do feel for them but for the director of 'Sunderland 'til I die' it must have been the perfect ending to the next series!

Also don't understand any disliking to Sunderland, they are way to big for the league, someone had to lose today though. Look forward to another trip to Sunderland.

I don't think Sunderland fans are arrogant at all, but they are a bit patronising towards clubs in L1. They pat us on the head and say how much they enjoyed visiting us, but the unspoken feeling is "let's hope we never have to visit that sh*thole again".
We did the exact same thing in the Conference.

Yes they may be too big for this league but they are here for a reason they need to embrace it not sh** all over the league every chance they get Twitter, or any other form of social media is not a place to get accurate representations of anything. Idiots rule the roost on platforms like that and many of those comments would never be said verbally. Put the screen down and attempt human interaction, you may be surprised at what you encounter. Sunderland fans are a credit to their club and I will look forward to them coming down again next season.

Also overheard Sunderland fans making disparaging remarks at the home fixture, especially after the game so was pleased to see them fall flat on their face. Hopefully another season, at least, visiting places like us, Accrington and Wimbledon will teach a few more of their supporters some humility.

Sunderland received 30 million in parachute payments at the start of the season. If someone gave Rovers 30 million with no-strings attached it would almost guarantee a new stadium, breathing life into our football club for the next 100 years ! They have just spunked it up against the wall. Feck 'em.
