Struggling to see how that is embarrassing? It's a fantastic achievement given where we were. ? "Why should I join Bristol Rovers, how will this move help my career and develop me as a player?" "We finished 8th over 24 games last season" Then he will say, with your signing and a few other player's that are needed, we can challenge for the top 6! Better than saying we stayed up with one game to spare and might be in a relegation fight! Highlighting that we came 8th over half the season, can only be a good thing in my book.

Wow what an awful thing to say publicly about Leadbitter Even if he did say what GC said which I doubt? he said he revealed it in a”private” conversation so why make it public other than to damage his career? Hope he he goes to Plymouth he’s a nasty bit of work

Poor GC is on a hiding to nothing with some people. Bizarre. I think most can see he’s got some good and bad points and is a bit of a novice when it comes to management. Theres bound to be fans that don’t like him. Some never took to DC when he was taking us up through the divisions.

Hope he he goes to Plymouth he’s a nasty bit of work Maybe Leadbitter didn't mind and is telling people the same himself. He might have to step down or maybe even have time out, if he's suffering that much. I'm sure you have more facts than GC though.

Are you sure about that as you hardly sounded like Leads' biggest fan in the past: "Leadbitter 6.5 His performance sums up the team- frustrating. Played reasonable over all but the standard of his crossing was abymal as I totally lost count of the number of attempts to put in a decent cross"

I used someone else’s quote for the first paragraph then replied to it in the rest of the post Must’ve posted it wrong but the part was a quote from someone else I always rated Dan and think he was under rated actually People make a point of his crossing but that wasn’t his job he got up and down trying to create because he could In some other games some full backs never crossed a ball the whole game and nothing was said? But because of Dan’s runs people expected more His best form was in partnership with Bodin when they combined well down the right he was support for Bodin and not expected to be both winger and full back as Billy did most of the crossing then

Listened to all of it. A very positive interview. I like his straight-talking and determination (comes across). Also has optimism (that doesn't appear to be blind) - well apart from the Tom Nichols bit ;-) He's been busy talking to potential new players and Bonham signing looks close. He wants 4 or 5 starting 11 players and then the other new keeper and Jakubiak as squad players. That might be it. Think that's enough especially as Benno and Matthews want to give it a go in pre-season. Bonham signing will be the best possible start to pre-season. Lets hope GC can get it over the line. UTG

A (somewhat controversial) name from Sheffield United that may be more realistic is Ched Evans. Another real handful and transfer listed by the Blades. The fee may be a barrier though. I can't see the fee being the supporters objection to signing the convicted rapist. (Though I know you weren't necessarily endorsing it)

Therefore he is not a convicted rapist, he was a wrongfully-convicted non-rapist. www.theguardian.com/football/2016/oct/14/footballer-ched-evans-cleared-of-in-retrial

according to gc leads opened up to him about his injuries and said his body kept failing him and that the injuries were getting the better of him I thought that was a bit naive by GC to reveal that. DL will be busy looking for another club (who of course will carry out a medical and be aware of his injuries), but to publicly say on radio that in a private conversation the player believes the injuries are getting the better of him certainly won't help him find another job. I bet the agent for DL was fuming! It’s a well worn cliche that players are the last to know when to quit. So few get out at the top, why would they, but to expect to carry on blagging a living is selfish and unrealistic. Coughlan cannot allow sentiment to play a part and I fully expect DC to do the same at Walsall. If he doesn’t then he’s doomed from the start.

The initial conviction was an absolute scandal and he's rightly sued and received compensation from his incompetent defence team. I'd welcome him to Rovers.

Him and JCH would be one hell of a handful - dream on tho' I guess.
