Gc has been talking to a few Sheffield Utd players well they have released three Irish internationals including Connor Washington, didn't do well for Utd this season but has got a few goals for QPR and had a good scoring record at Peterboroug. Sheffield Utd have Re-leased a few good players.

Enquiring minds need to know!😜

Not sure why three different people have been so quick to defend such a deplorable character. I accept that his conviction was quashed - but I would certainly wouldn't want us signing someone who felt what he did that night was acceptable. Who has defended his conduct or character? You stated he was a convicted rapist and were corrected as the very poor initial conviction was rightly quashed in a court of law. I'm pretty sure the other footballer who was tried but acquitted at the same time came to us on loan - I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong. His conduct was equally questionable but I don't remember much 'noise' about him playing. It seems that regardless of the final outcome of the judicial process mud sticks and people like yourself will continue to call him a rapist.

Played 6 games for us in 2013.
Evans was cleared at retrial as we know.
My post reflected on the fact that he is a potent striker at league 1 level and has been transfer listed by Sheffield Utd.
May not be him that Coughlan is after, may be Clarke, may be Washington, may be none of these.

"My names graham coughlan and i kept rovers up last season so please plymouth or anybody give me a job next season". "Fact is we got no money and i even had to offer joe partington a contract despite the fact he is usually on the treatment table!!" "I even had to call jakubiac, please please get me out of here"

Surprised at you Pirate I thought you want for a better class of player both on and off the pitch. The way he basically tried to assult Locks at the Mem this season was a disgrace.

It wasn't something I would condone, but I'm pretty sure it would be quickly forgotten if he scored us 20 goals next season.

Why not? Proven goal scorer... "..........and an innocent man. I'd have him at Rovers but expect he's looking for something better than us.

Mr Evans to this day, is still trying to escape Millwall Tone’s pocket.

I agree and like most of us, I was unhappy with Evans treatment of Tom Lockyer in December...BUT GC is looking for more power and pace. A dual front line of two powerful strikers with quality would get us the goals we were lacking this season.

As far as I am concerned, Ched Evans only did 1 think wrong. He cheated on his partner. The same partner who stood by him through-out the whole trial and fought for him while he was behind bars, set up a website to show all the facts of the case to try and clear his bad name and stood by his side during the re-trial which rightly quashed the conviction. If his partner can forgive his cheating ways, then who are we to hold a grudge towards him when his relationship with his partner has nothing to do with anyone else. What people do in their relationships is their business. End of. The word 'rape' should not even be mentioned when discussing Evans as he was rightly proven not guilty.

Hilarious high and mighty, holier than thou you attitude amongst football fans on things like this. The case was an absolute scandal but because it was a rape case and the alleged perpetrator was a footballer nobody in the media was interested in pointing out the miscarriage of justice hence why his family and legal team had to go to the lengths of having the facts presented in a purpose built website. Terrible really when you get terrorists and murders getting support for appeals when there is even a whiff of an unsafe conviction but Ched Evans was hung out to dry - presumably to both destroy a member of that hated species (pro footballer) and also to boost rape convictions regardless of evidence.
