Listened earlier ..... I like him , like what he has to say and think he’s the sort of tough no nonsense manager we need. He’s played at this level and above , has good contacts in the game and is a man with a plan. He’s not DC .... but ultimately DC failed. So let’s move on and support our man !

Poor GC is on a hiding to nothing with some people. Bizarre. I think he has done well since stepping up and came across much better last night than in previous interviews. He just seems naive in many areas of management and wonder if coaching was a better fit for him. Regardless of my doubts I am fully behind him and hope he proves to be a huge success.

I thought that was a bit naive by GC to reveal that. DL will be busy looking for another club (who of course will carry out a medical and be aware of his injuries), but to publicly say on radio that in a private conversation the player believes the injuries are getting the better of him certainly won't help him find another job. I bet the agent for DL was fuming! It’s a well worn cliche that players are the last to know when to quit. So few get out at the top, why would they, but to expect to carry on blagging a living is selfish and unrealistic. Coughlan cannot allow sentiment to play a part and I fully expect DC to do the same at Walsall. If he doesn’t then he’s doomed from the start. Didn't expect, or want him to keep DL but he could have kept their personal conversation out of the public domain. He seems as honest as they come but needs to learn when saying less is appropriate.

If rovers board have any ambition Ched Evan would be the sort of player you say absolutely yes, go and buy. Sadly we do not.
Would be Brilliant pairing with JCH, defenders will have lots to think about.
Further to that, imagine if we had 2 good wide players attacking at pace too, that can cut in, can cross the ball.
Then have OC and Sercs in the middle...
That is the sort of front 6 I want to see.
We can dream.

Was a bit worried when questioned about the Plymouth job, sounds like he’d jump at the chance, so if they are in for him I hope they hurry up and make it known!

Not sure I'd want him anywhere near the club, he seems just a total thug.

He’s probably just hedging his bets as at some point in the future it’s a possibility he might manage them. He’s hardly gonna say “ nah , not interested in the slightest”. Fans would remember that.

Not sure why three different people have been so quick to defend such a deplorable character.
I accept that his conviction was quashed - but I would certainly wouldn't want us signing someone who felt what he did that night was acceptable.

Not sure if Erhun Oztumer from Bolton is GC type of player but I think he would be the sort of player we need to run the midfield.i know he would be a luxury player and GC said he wants hard working players .and he might be cheap. You never know 😀

Listened to all of it. A very positive interview. I like his straight-talking and determination (comes across). Also has optimism (that doesn't appear to be blind) - well apart from the Tom Nichols bit ;-) He's been busy talking to potential new players and Bonham signing looks close. He wants 4 or 5 starting 11 players and then the other new keeper and Jakubiak as squad players. That might be it. Think that's enough especially as Benno and Matthews want to give it a go in pre-season. Just listened to it as well and and agree. He comes over as a straightforward, honest guy who has a plan and wants to achieve it. GT never ducks the harder questions and put GC on the spot about Plymouth and about the staff leaving. And GC answered as honestly as he could. Those who said he hesitated or was a bit uncomfortable maybe correct but I feel he’s come to management relatively late and the interviewing and PR-stuff is, by his own admission, not the best or favourite part of his management but he never shirked giving an answer. UTG!

No matter what side of the fence you sit on, there’s one undeniable fact & that is such a character would split the fan base straight down the middle. It would be good for no one. Club, manager, player or squad.

You never know 😀 I'd like Oz a lot but based on GC's comments about wanting fast widemen, I'm interpreting that as he's keen on 4-4-2 or 4-3-3, in which case a classic 'number 10' doesn't really fit. Plus we still have Sercs on the books. That said, as much as I like a midfield three and it got the job done by keeping us up, I won't be happy going into the season with a starting trio of Upson-Ogogo-Ollie from a creative/flair POV.

I’m not sure I’d want him either but whatever my views are and whatever he is he is not a convicted rapist. He was cleared and good luck to him as he rebuilds his life. Lots of people who knew him well stood by him. UTG!
