The Premiership is turning in to the Scottish League. A few can win it, everyone else is just hanging on A few can win the Scottish league? Haven't Celtic won it 7 years on the bounce? Two in Scotland, a few in England

Leicester gave us all hope.Think it's amazing that B'mouth with a capacity of just over 10,000 compete with the clubs who get 6 and even 7 times that.

Watching the Premier League is becoming like a basketball fan watching the Harlem Globetrotters. Or just like watching the Golden State Warriors, to be fair... Got to admit , I have no idea of who they are or what sport. Now going to websearch

They are not owned by a billionaire they are owned by Maxim Denim who owns a petrochemical company worth about a 100milion a quarter of the worth of our owners but Denim has probably got other money no one seems to know his true wealth. Bournemouth get most of their money from sky revenue which is paid out on where you finish in the table. Apparently they can survive in the Prem without gate receipts , clubs get paid 90 million plus per year for TV rights . So could be getting 100million in income from TV rights.

Although I'd imagine if they moved into a 30,000 stadium tomorrow they'd probably fill it next season, such is the nature of PL tourism as well as their own fanbase.

Sorry, you're right about Bournemouth and their owner, I think I was thinking of Southampton? Nice info though fella.

When people say it’s all about money, they are right of course it is but... Some of their football yesterday was fantastic. Kompany has been there 11 years, de Bruyn was rejected at Chelsea, Zinchenko not a big star before Man C, Sterling transformed, all the PL clubs have money but only Man C have a coach like Guardiola. A lot of players have been elsewhere and other clubs, Man U, pay more but none have such a style like Man C. If we had scored some of those goals we’d be swooning over them for years. Some of those players had been elsewhere but Pep G has created a fantastic team who play the right way. I didn’t switch off, I really enjoyed watching it. It was very simple football, get the ball, other players moved into space giving the ball-runner options and clinical finishing. Fantastic football.
UTG!

Man City are playing th best football i've ever seen in th English top flight. They don't seem ta have prima donnas and Pep is one of th best managers ever who seems to have improved evry City player. I actually enjoy watching them play and how they go about winning games.

Strange, my Father said a few years ago, that if an owner came in for Rovers and spent as much on a squad as Man City has, then he probably would stop going. Got to say, I'm seeing his point. And yet, poor Wael gets criticised for NOT spending his money and the family are lambasted for not spending. Perhaps we need to be clear about what we do want!😉 (Seriously, not really disagreeing baggs but watching yesterday I loved it and Man City is a real story about how evolution has worked well.) UTG!

I agree they play some superb football which is a joy to watch, it is a shame they didn't get to the champions league final as I think they are the best footballing side in Europe , quick and sleek , there skilful quick thinking players make our team unfortunately look like cart horses. I suppose money does talk as Premier league is the richest in Europe at least and English clubs make up the four finalist in the two European club cup finals.

Yes you might be right neilv, but I’ve noticed in the last few matches some gaps and empty seats and, without checking, I think they had about 10,500 v Spurs, 1,000 below their capacity. But being one of the PL clubs who would make a profit without a crowd perhaps they don’t worry greatly. But I’m sure they do. UTG!

I hear you, it's all about balance I guess. I'd rather we were successful due to youth development rather than buying our way. I'm not sure Man City is an example of evolution, rather an owner who earns £10 mil an hour and just throws any cash required to get to the top.

Yes baggs, you are right, it is about a balance. When I said evolution I meant that they have slowly, over 10 years, become the best team in Europe. They have invested heavily in the community of south Manchester and most people in the area love the family and what they’ve done. For them it’s been more than the football. But I go to Bournemouth and Rovers most weekends and I prefer Rovers every day of the week. And having watched what’s happened at Bournemouth I can understand some of your dad’s feelings. But that football yesterday was brilliant, for the second half I didn’t care who was playing, it was just the exciting standard of football. UTG!

The Premiership is turning in to the Scottish League. A few can win it, everyone else is just hanging on You're right, there's no top six this season. Just a top two. I can't say I'm that excited by City's style of play. It's so perfect it's boring. Liverpool's rampaging, risky style is more up my street and I find myself increasingly drawn to the playoffs as a substitute for the FA Cup.
