Imo the development squad is the last place we should be looking for savings. If we get rid with the current transfer window rules we'd have to have a larger 1st team squad. I think a smaller squad with hopefully a bit more quality supplemented by the development squad is the way we should look to go. I agree. And before deciding if we can /can’t afford development squad we need to know how much it costs us. Istr this time last year someone saying £250k. No idea how accurate that is but if true it seems reasonable. Uncover a player who sells for moderate value and you’ve funded it for a couple of years. UTG!

IMO the development squad and youth teams are a big part of the future for BRFC, I think cutting back or scrapping would be a step backwards. I don’t know the exact figures of how much it costs to run per season, but I’m sure finding and developing players for the future with potential to improve our first team squad and potential profit from selling fees would far outway these figures. The development squad is still in its early stages but already seems to me to be producing these players with the likes of Kilgour, Moore, Kavanagh, russe and Tom Mehew all likely to be knocking on the door of the first team pretty soon.

I’ll go against the post above... 3.5m in debt. It’s being underwritten (to an extent by someone) and that would be the owners. Perhaps we should support them a little more considering the investment they are having to put in. It would be madness to assume it lasts forever, and there are genuine concerns. We so badly need a stadium. We’ve got a stadium and we’ve got permission for events for revenue but as usual we are 8 scats behind the sh** cos I can’t recall us booking rod Stewart or the spice girls
