The only real solution is a new stadium, which has been the case for a decade or more, problem clearly has been funding it, even if Wael turns up at the meeting (I don't think there's any proof he doesn't intend attending) I doubt he's going to suddenly reveal his plans for a new stadium. The thing is now I would imagine that a sale of the Mem would only cover the debt rather than fund or help fund a new stadium. The AQ's are wealthy by most peoples standards but not really in football terms when it comes to funding the cost of a new stadium, which even a basic one must be in the region of £30m. These people aren't philanthropists they will want a return somehow on top of the funding costs for the stadium, so what would people consider acceptable 3% or 5% per annum over what they themselves have to pay ? I simply can't see that happening so the only solution seems to be to sell us to someone with the wherewithall to pay off the AQ's flog the Mem and before that goes through and the keys are handed over, build a new ground in advance or secure a site and planning consent and pay rent somewhere for 2/3 years - whilst underwriting the cost of building a proper squad. Alternatively, pay off the AQ's and develop the Mem piecemeal whilst funding a new squad. Either way its a lot of money to spunk over a club which despite our protestations of being "big" don't actually support that claim with paying punters, and would be in competition with other clubs available which already have acceptable stadia, much less debt, dare I say less immediate competition and therefore greater potential for success. Wael doesn't seem to want to let go of the top position even if it was simply a notional one, and people with the funds needed would not stand for a show pony in the boardroom who adds nothing to the business. I think that if someone was found, then the more senior members of the AQ's would pull rank and tell Wael his dream is over and write off the Rovers experience as a gamble that didn't pay off. The best solution for us would be if the AQ's actually wrote off the debt and flogged the club for £1 - never going to happen of course. Don’t think the sale of the stadium would even cover the debt anymore.

One thing not mentioned previously about the AGM is that ALL of the current Directors are up for re-election. It will be interesting to see those shareholders abstaining or opposing any of their re-election. Yes, I know Wael's 90%+ vote will ensure all will be re-elected. Is Hamer standing for re-election?

I’ll have a kilo of magic mushrooms to get me through the off season I took LSD whilst watching the Gas once, was absolutely horrible, we were playing nice, free flowing attacking football. Felt so separated from reality.

No, but 3 pitches, paying off a manager, paying the wages of players out on loan, paying for an over inflated squad, paying signing on fees, and watching the gates go down does take it's toll

No need to worry, the next set of accounts will include the sausage rolls sales! Break even I reckon?

Its a British thing to be led like lambs to the slaughter when it comes to football clubs. Nobody else really gives a f**k because its dog eat dog and a case of rather you than me. I predict we will continue to assume the position with a jar of vaseline and anticipate a shafting, and I predict no other club in the 72 will want to kiss it better afterwards.

Blackpool, Coventry and Charlton fans seem to be pretty vocal but I can't see it's helped them, Blackpool only got rid of the Osytons thanks to the courts, Coventry are looking like playing outside of Coventry again this season, and Charlton managed to get themselves promoted whilst trying to get rid of their owner!

Thousands of Blackpool supporters boycotted the club week in, week out and that did nothing until Oyston was eventually forced out by the courts. Fans have been very vocal, it just falls on deaf ears. Any football supporter of a club whose survival is at risk gets my sympathy, except our neighbours south of the river of course.

I recall the Oxford fans abusing the Kassam family; even invading the Boardroom during a match (against us I seem to recall). That went well, they still don't own a stadium and pay rent to the same family?

Wael Al-Qadi owes the staff, players, shareholders and supporters an explanation as to why Bristol Rovers seems to have come off the rails. Hugely in debt and no sign of the stadium which Nick Higgs and Ed Ware had worked so hard to bring about, a derelict training ground, and it seems, the momentum in promotion which had existed just evaporated. Will Wael Al-Qadi turn up next week to the AGM and give us some answers to the many questions which do need a response? Or will he be missing as per recently on the internet where he was once so prolific? Worked so hard signing any deal, so they could look like heroes lol. If it was that good of a deal, we would have signed it. Every time I have asked him a question, I have always had a response within hours. So he hasn't really gone missing. He's probally fed up of being abused every time he posts something though lol.

We've simply no idea when a deal couldn't be agreed as Wael just hides behind NDA's, what is for certain is the UWE was a damn sight closer to us getting a decent stadium than anything Wael's produced. if Wael can't take abuse he should really sell up as, unfortunately, that goes with the job, as those being carried down Glos Rd during the good time.
