Our most recent out-and-our winger has been Montano IMO. <iframe width="34.1800000000001" height="2.92" id="MoatPxIOPT0_63010682" scrolling="no" style="border-style: none; left: 15px; top: -5px; width: 34.18px; height: 2.92px; position: absolute; z-index: -9999;"></iframe> <iframe width="34.1800000000001" height="2.92" id="MoatPxIOPT0_88749181" scrolling="no" style="border-style: none; left: 1639px; top: -5px; width: 34.18px; height: 2.92px; position: absolute; z-index: -9999;"></iframe> <iframe width="34.1800000000001" height="2.92" id="MoatPxIOPT0_60425604" scrolling="no" style="border-style: none; left: 15px; top: 87px; width: 34.18px; height: 2.92px; position: absolute; z-index: -9999;"></iframe> <iframe width="34.1800000000001" height="2.92" id="MoatPxIOPT0_65493504" scrolling="no" style="border-style: none; left: 1639px; top: 87px; width: 34.18px; height: 2.92px; position: absolute; z-index: -9999;"></iframe> I Thought Monty was ok. Thought Clarke was WRONG to let him go and be replaced by a short arse

We've had great wingers in the past - I date from the Harold Jarman era - but in rough order of 'greatness' (judging on what they achieved or could possibly have done for the club) Harold Jarman Colin Dobson Micky Barrett Ray Graydon Kenny Stephens Phil Purnell Wally Walters Bobby Jones Lee Archer Worrell Sterling Sammy Igoe Possibly add David Mehew as a goal scoring wideman? With you on this one ,just add Peter Hooper and Georgie Petherbridge, but Harold the greatest of them all!!

Moore still had another season left on his contract, Monty was out of contract, so he did what he only could do, and got rid of Monty.

Always makes me think of Millwall at home around 2008 when he scored a late header and all anyone around me could ask was "Is his hair gel alright?"

Pete had the hardest left foot shot to ever play for rovers and a better senior match ratio 137 goals in 391 appearances, Harold played more senior matches 508 scoring 139 goals, both real Gas legends and better than any other wingers who have played for rovers since 1973. Although l have full respect for Boris who managed to score 50 goals as a right sided midfielder.

I once saw Keith Curle play right wing away at Millwall, he was very quick

One of the best wingers I watched at Eastville was Andrew Evans whose career was sadly cut short ! Great player Andrew Evans was a class player. Snapped his leg in a crunching tackle (against Southampton I think) the sound of the break could be heard all around Eastville. He unfortunately never played again.

Yes, forgot about Andrew Evans who could possibly have become another of the great wingers to add to the list.
Very sad that he was effectively put out of the game by a fellow professional - but that's how it was in the bad old days.
Some say the game has gone soft but it's far better than the days when every team had a hard man who's job was literally to kick any player in sight.
I recently bought a copy of the magazine 'Backpass' which is a retro, pre Premier League publication (I recommend anyone over 40 to buy it) - but what struck me was the number of players, be they international class or lower league, who had to retire prematurely through terrible injuries. It should never have happened but it was the way the game was played in those days.

I once saw Keith Curle play right wing away at Millwall, he was very quick I seem to remember him being timed as the fastest player in all divisions but I could be wrong đŸ˜‚

Player called Pickering or similar. He just walked away & only looked back once with a sort of "oh sh*t" look on his face. In his book Ray Kendall says Southampton & McMenemy never made contact over it to offer any apology or even sympathy.

Aidy Boothroyd, he had the funniest way of running of any Rovers player that I can remember. David mehew ran like he needed a poo. Edit : I always thought it was funny as a kid because it also rhymes.

The challenge by top of the table Sunderland's Gordon Armstrong on Kenny Hibbitt at Twerton was probably as bad. Effectively ended his career but at least it was in the twilight of what had been a great career. Certainly rattled our players and motivated them to a 4-0 win. That and the wins over City were probably among the best at Twerton.

That did end Lubanski. That’s not bias talk just fact

Remember away at Leyton Orient, late in the game Lewis went on a mazy dribble into the box with the ball. My mate said "fecks sake Haldane you can't do it all on your own", cue Lewis banging it into the net to a chorus of "Oh yes he can"

Was the winner in a Leyland Daf or whatever it was called then cup tie. Reminiscent of Ricky Villa’s in the FA Cup final imo! Great goal in a distinctly unmemorable game.
