Sickness break in London with his fancy woman? 😂

And so many people complained when DC took too long to sign the right player based on their attitudes. I’d rather have 10 Sinclairs signed a week before the season starts than one wa*ker like Payne. How long does it take to check someones attitude. DC's transfers were hit and miss just like most managers, some with a good attitude like James, but still no good. Its not that he took a long time to work them out. It’s more that it was harder for him to find the right player because he was more fussy in trying to find them. Which it appears he was usually right to do so.

Sickness break in London with his fancy woman? 😂 Phoned the club late on a Friday night to say he was unavailable for the following days home game and had travelled up to London to stay with his partner/girlfriend/wife/ fancy woman.( Please delete where appropriate.)

Very impressed with how GC has dealt with this. It has shown everyone inside and outside the club that we won't employ players with a bad attitude. Very decisive, cut his losses and hopefully his replacement will have got the right message.

We’ve moved on, perhaps he hasn’t or can’t. Whatever, he’s no longer our player. Poor SP, I guess he never bought into BRFC. Anyone looking at the former players stuff on here will see how the fan base hold former players in great esteem. But if he didn’t or doesn’t want that that’s up to him. On the same day he left he should have looked at what Tom L posted instead of acting like a 10 year old (sorry 10 year olds) and posting his own stuff.
After that post I presume he never roomed with or spoke to Stuart Sinclair or Tom Lockyer in his short time here. If he had he would have had a far better understanding of us in his time here imo.
But he’s gone so who really cares.
UTG!

Stefan fires a final parting shot across our bows as he moves on to pastures new! From his Instagram:- stefanpayneeVerified Happy to have signed for @tranmererovers. Thank you for all of your kind messages, cannot wait to play in front of a proper fan base👊🏾💪🏽 #SWA I would suggest Mr Payne takes a very good look at himself and asks why the vast majority of a proper fan base formed such a opinion of him. An obscene gesture at the away support which generated financial penalty, a self certificated sickness break in London with his fancy woman and countless poor performances on the pitch, sums up his time with us. He has with that comment summed up what he is and will no doubt receive a well deserved welcome on his return to the Mem. That is, if he manages to get rid of that belly he is sporting in the photo and prove his fitness to play. Body Type: Clearly not someone who turns down cake.

I think it’s worth praising the board for taking the financial hit on this one and allowing GC to get a very bad apple out of our club. It would have been easy to say they’d spent 200k on him so you’ve got him until there’s a buyer

It would have been easy to say they’d spent 200k on him so you’ve got him until there’s a buyer But then they'd be paying his wages and with no potential buyer looking likely they only paid what they would have paid in the long run. (Potentially less had Payne made a deal with them)

Let's be honest other than the initial loss of 200k, to have him off the books is great for us. I can imagine as soon we knew Tranmere were sniffing, cant understand why, we were happy to let him leave. Cant imagine we paid him off if another clubs was signing him straight away.
Turned up for 1 game for us, looked like the sort of player we needed, failed to keep from, failed to run around, failed to jump to win the ball, failed to have the right attitude.
As much as this a loss financially for the board, taking action to get him out the club deserves credit.

Will go down as one of the worst players in our history. Utterly shocking excuse for a professional footballer - but worse - without question one of the worst attitudes I've ever seen from a "professional".
Good riddance to bad rubbish.
Genuinely feel for Tranmere.

But a few have mentioned that already.

I sincerely hope it’s Millwall Tone getting the nod in that home game against him & not one of the new lads. Someone who will know just how much of a disgrace this guy is. I hope he takes everything in that first 50/50, man & ball, with a bit of afters.
He’ll receive a tasty reception from the first minute to the last when he’s on the park, from the Thatchers & those that gather behind the dugouts. Cannot wait.

Funny thing with payne is i remember watching his first interview after being signed and he gave out all the wrong signals. It was as if the signing was forced on him and he did not want to be here.

Would that be the one where he holds up a scarf in front of our magnificent stadium, smiles weakly and thinks: "that f*cking agent told me they were a sleeping giant". They all do that.

You could build a team around Payne! Fill in the positions for the worst attitude ever first team. 1. 2. Carl Regan 3. 4. Garry Kenneth 5. 6. 7. Mark Wright 8. JJ O'Toole 9. Stefan Payne 10. 11. Surely Buckle has to be the manager.

Payne's time at Bristol Rovers was rotten from the off, it was clear to see that him coming here was a late decision forced out of desperation to find a goalscorer and he was evidently quite low down on DC's list of targets.
A good 60 minutes at Accrington was all the positives I can really think of from his solitary season here, devoid of effort and ultimately not a very good footballer. The disrespect he showed to the fanbase only served to put salt in the wounds. In some ways I prefer even Matty Taylor to him, at least he earned his wages whilst at the football club.

Unsurprisingly I lost zero sleep over this. God help Tranmere. Mind you if he gesticulates rudely to their supporters they will probably torch his car.

I agree but whats sad is DC brought him to the club.I remember Payne was everything in a player and person that DC tried getting away from when we dropped into Non league.Over paid, bad attitude, lazy etc... I guess you could tell things had go wrong here for him once the likes of Payne and to a degree KB were signed.
