Did we actually get a fee for him? I think we got ~£300k IIRC he only had about 6months left on his contract and so we cashed in or we would have lost him on a free.

So many headers as well! Could always rely on him to turn a game for us. Not many games that he went missing? Hopefully we will have a few new players who don’t mind running with the ball now that he and Lines have gone? JCH does his share but not enough flare last season from the middle?
I think the injury he had at Northampton when we won 6-0 wasn’t one he fully recovered from? and went off at 1/2 time? [pretty sure it was him?]

I think eliot Richards could have done better with the right coaching. Scored a couple of good goals at Cheaty Wycombe

Bodin was a fantastic player for Rovers. Would love to see him back here but I doubt whether we could afford his wages. On the other hand we paid a fortune for the services of Bennett .....

Everyone hails Browner's right foot, but both Billy Bob's feet were equally as important that day Can only wish him the very best BB's goal really went unnoticed at the time but when you look back it's probably in the best goals scored by a Rovers player, it would be good for BB to step down a level for a few months to prove he still had goals in him, as he seems to have lost his way in the Championship after returning from his last injury.

One of his most underrated for myself, is the second Vs York to make it 2-0 in 2016. At the time Accrington were only drawing at Wycombe, we held a slender 1 goal lead & as he raced through on goal to face the keeper, everybody around us on that packed crumbling away terrace were grabbing hold of eachothers T-shirt’s, jackets, Rovers shirts etc... As the double step over sat the keeper onto his backside, the entire one end of the ground just went ballistic As the ball rolled over the line. If there was cover on it, the noise would’ve been deafening. Regrettably the atmosphere walking out following the 4-1 win was most sombre, after Stanley secured a 1-0 win themselves. I still held plenty of promotion hope. To return to my original point, it was two Bodin goals that day of the utmost quality.

Bennet is apparently on 4 k a week and is stealing a living but I’d imagine Billy is on twice that at that Preston. It hasn’t worked out for Billy as well as he’d hoped probably but it seems his injury probs have come back which is a shame , a fit Bodin is good enough for the championship without a shadow of a doubt. Bennet is conference standard possibly league 2. Good technique but nothing else. Bodin has vision, Positioning , technique, both feet , height / good in the air rocket shot , bennet is powder puff in everything he does. I’d rather have one Bodin than 5 Bennett’s.

I still held plenty of promotion hope. To return to my original point, it was two Bodin goals that day of the utmost quality. Fully agree. At York that afternoon Lines bossed the midfield, he collected the ball from the defence and just ran at York, they couldn’t handle him. BB two great goals made their defenders look flimsy and slow. I was in the home stand and a few of us celebrated it. Istr a moment of cheering in the second half when we thought Wycombe had scored but typically they didn’t help us! But all was well, in the end. BB was such a clean striker of the ball, few scuffs or lucky goals, was able to thread the ball through any small gap which he did fairly often for us. We played to his strengths I think insofar as he was allowed to do his thing, and our team got the ball to him in the final third and his close control did the rest. He’s a confidence player and in the Preston team he’s not the main man like he was for us. I always say don't go back and I’m always saying move on when MT, DC stuff comes up but BB yes, I’d have him back. A very special talent. I hope he gets some injury-free and has a good season at PNE. UTG!

Remember him coming through the ranks and scoring some good goals for us, can’t remember when he left us at all? He was released following our relegation to The Conference. He had short spells at Tranmere and Cheltenham, but he was unfortunately diagnosed with Testicular cancer in 2015, but was thankfully given the all clear a few months later. He went over to the states and joined up with Stuart Campbell for a short lived time at Tampa bay Rowdies, don't think he played any competitive games though He's played for Weston, Hereford and Merthyr over the last few years, surprisingly he's still only 28

Fantastic player for us.
You never knew if he was going to hit it first time or take 20 touches, let alone what foot he would use.
Definitely got to be one of our all time greats.

Billy was scarily good for us - oozed class.
If he could stay fit he’d easily be a top Championship player IMO.

Just had "NEW SIGNING: Billy Bodin" come up on my Youtube feed. That was about 3 and a half seconds of excitement until I realised it was five years old:
