As a marketing student if some of you think that us not releasing the kit yet ‘makes no difference’ then you have absolutely no right to moan that we’re in thousands of pounds worth of debt and run at a loss. Any summer impulse buys will now have gone to either the 82’ers or sports direct and a prem team. We’ve missed out on a months worth of sales and if we’re leaving it this late (as someone previously suggested) to ‘dot the i’s and cross the t’s’ on our kit sponsorship then something has gone badly wrong. All kits should be printed and ready to go for the open day. We’re already weeks behind the curve again. To some it may seem like a trivial thing, especially if you have no intention of buying the kit, but it is peak Rovers again, both in the shirt being so late and some fans seeing no issue with it. But as a marketing student you should surely know there's only so many Rovers fans who'll buy a replica shirt on an average season, so regardless as to whether we release it on the 14th July or the 28th July we will most likely sell the same number come next April/May. Rovers seems to have made releasing the shirt as part of the annual open day which seems a good move to me.

Not to mention x number of people will say it is a sh** design and wont buy it Wonder what the Social Media outrage would have been when we released the 89/90 shirt with all blue back

What, so you think people will buy the tops in early in summer, but not late summer? You honestly think that? NO! You Are unbelievable. Is it not obvious that the earlier they are released the more chance of sales? Whilst the weather is good. Make hay whilst the sun shines. Look dude stop looking for an argument. One would think that the marketing would have been done before end of last season and , lord knows,we have lost out on numerous occasions with the Wembley game being the biggest of cock ups. I have never bought one but I do understand kids love them and we need to be getting this sorted , if only for them. I had high hopes of being professionally run but there you go. A few cosmetic jobs seem to satisfy many. If you dare put your head above the parapet then you must be 82 or not a supporter. I live opposite Southey playing fields and a youngsters tournament is on now. I asked the kids manager and he said Doug Hillier (sp) provided the rovers kits for the kids. Whilst it’s not life or death, you would think it would be a thing of the past

Whilst it’s not life or death, you would think it would be a thing of the past In the past we have had to wait for the 1883 draw before the shirts could be made up. Last season we had apparently our best deal ever. Whilst i would love the kit out as early as possible, i would gather an extra 50k on sponsorship negates a few shirt sales. Of course we could be scraping the barrel, but Tom G doesnt strike me as that sort

They should have it out earlier, then perhaps they could do a deal if you buy a season ticket, say 20% off or something like hat. I hope it is just a straight quarters job

I’d guess some kind of cost analysis has been done and they’ve made the decision that more shirts are bought at the open day so keep the suspense going until then. I’d be surprised if there’s that many Young football supporters and their parents that are out there saying “ well rovers haven’t released the shirt yet, come on son let’s go up Cribbs sport direct and get the new Liverpool strip”

At the fans forum Tom Gorringe said they had signed and were about to be announced pending some dotting of is and crossing of ts. Kit was supposed to released on open day so guessing we must be hearing any time soon. Crossing of the is & dotting of the ts, where have I heard that before with Rovers. What could possibly go wrong?

Open Day's attract a couple of thousand people, the last game of the season attracts 8,000+. Avec and Errea were good at having kits ready early, I suggest that having a steady sponsor in Cowlin did help though.

I have been away for a few weeks, but I haven't heard any news on Rovers off the field. Do we have a Sponsor this season and if so who?. I think so I spotted this on a flight in Australia as a trial to see customer reaction. Not sure if it's Virgin or the beer that is soon to be announced as the Open Day Attachment Deleted

maybe we will be unsponsored like Huddersfield, Motherwell and now Newport I really hope so. Great initiative and I think sales would rocket. I can't be the only one who hasn't bought one in 20 years cos I'm too old to be a walking advert for some firm I have no affinity to. Thatchers might do the job though!

Whilst it's a nice touch, and we could be involved, it'll never catch on as it's only worth it for the PR. It's only valid for a few weeks before it's forgotten.

Maybe it’s an issue with macron as I notice Reading also haven’t released their shirt. Just my opinion that we shouldn’t leave the kit release so late, and off past experiences such as last seasons open day it really wouldn’t surprise me if similar happens again.
Tiring when the same posters always quote my sh** looking for confrontation, patronising me in a footy chatroom is all well and good if it makes your summer complete.
Appreciate the work TG has been doing and hopefully next year things might be a lot smoother and quicker as he thankfully attempts to drag us into the 21st century - that pesky Uni graduate thinking he knows how to maximise revenue at our club! 🤬🤬
