I heard it might be Dyson or the Fruit Market. I don’t believe it will by Dyson. And if you don’t like that news then you’ll just have to suck it up, dust yourself down and go again. Apparently NASA

Doesnt say anyone has missed out just that Southend are the latest to get in on it. Yeah the kit is awful and is just a training top Nike have on their website for £15 but adding the Southend badge somehow makes it worth £30 extra. We have a unique kit so this wouldnt be the case. Bet it would sell well though to their supporters as it’s their chance to get a shirt without carrying sponsors. A lot of people don’t like that as evidenced by this thread.

Maybe it’s an issue with macron as I notice Reading also haven’t released their shirt. Just my opinion that we shouldn’t leave the kit release so late, and off past experiences such as last seasons open day it really wouldn’t surprise me if similar happens again. Tiring when the same posters always quote my sh** looking for confrontation, patronising me in a footy chatroom is all well and good if it makes your summer complete. Appreciate the work TG has been doing and hopefully next year things might be a lot smoother and quicker as he thankfully attempts to drag us into the 21st century - that pesky Uni graduate thinking he knows how to maximise revenue at our club! 🤬🤬 Lot of very bored people on here looking for an argument at the moment mate, just ignore them. Will be back to normal when the season starts / schools go back.

Southend - "Hey Portsmouth, is it ok if I borrow your homework to look at?"
Portsmouth - "Yeah sure, but if you copy it change it enough so the teacher won't realise..."

I'm in a blasphemous mood. Ross I'm interested to hear your thoughts on whether a good idea commercially may be to bin the quarters?

If it's communicated well before hand with decent reasoning (Black Arab shirt as a home for the 150th anniversary, Solid Blue shirt as a Watney Cup 50th anniversary etc) then it could work if it's made clear it's a one off. Personally I think the quarters are an integral part of the clubs brand though.

I know it is a controversial topic but we played in solid blue shirts, white shorts and trim, when I started watching Rovers. It seems our fanbase demand quarters. We have had black and white vertical stripes too plus the iconic yellow sash on black. At the least, personally I’d love to see our away kit to be like one of any of those

Although I don't mind a play on it (last year or even controversial in itself the Tesco bag kit). Like what you say with the away kits though, although black and white stripes might be difficult to get away with as it clashes a little with the white on the home kit possibly requiring a third kit if we play a team wearing all white or other variants of white stripes.

It won’t happen. I’m just thinking out aloud is all

Might have been pre-1920... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Bristol_Rovers_F.C. I have some old black and white team photos from 1904-1905 and 1911-1912. Obviously in black and white you can't prove they're not black... but they look much more like grey stripes (ie blue).

Personally I think the quarters are an integral part of the clubs brand though. Yeah look what Arsenal did for their 05/06 shirt. I wouldn’t have been opposed to the black Arab shirt replacing the quarters on our 125th anniversary, think it would’ve been a nice touch. Other than that I wouldn’t drop them, agree that it’s integral to our identity. I’d also like us to have quartered away strip as well, but unless it’s a stand out like the pink April fools shirt a few years ago I doubt sales of it would be that great. I do like how C*ty incorporated an old style badge on their third shirt the season just gone and would be nice if we experimented with similar or even offered polo shirts with the old crest on in the club shop (quick look on the shop website and it’s absolutely horrific hopefully that is high up on the agenda). Side note than Southend shirt is scandalous, the same template on ProDirect is £15 & they’re trying to flog it to fans for £40

Also think for small clubs like us the voting system on kits or colour schemes would only help to maximise sales (perhaps restrict it to season ticket holders so that teds can’t sabotage the vote).
