As I recall, the Concorde cinema at the entrance used to show Swedish films. I was too young to be allowed in to see them, but I suppose they must have been about IKEA. I can recall when the cinema was called His Majesty's, can't remember when the name changed. There was a match, must have been early 60's when the queue to the Tote End was certainly back to the bridge if not all the way to the Black Swan, wonder what match that was?

We all have memories of Eastville, it's sh** I know but it's ancient history now guys. I loved the place but it's the past, let's remember everything but let's move on hey!!! Not sure why moving on is needed. Surely ifs and buts allows you to continue to feel so much and reason for sticking with the club, despite everything, every decision, every dream.
Of course Eastville became ramshackle, but prior to the fire I can still remember the atmosphere created when you had at least 15,000 + crowds regularly. It was incredible and as a lad in the 70's mindblowing, exciting and never to be forgotten. if only we had......yeah shut up.

As a kid on the Miller Road end, I just remember the pitch being a bloody long way away and opposition yobs!
If we’d never sold it, got shot of the greyhounds, it would have been a good footprint of land to develop into a tidy stadium. Mind you, I think the Mem is too

Arsehole Thanks for the word calling, I wont retaliate with something just because you weren't capable of reading my post properly. I will explain it for you though, I was tongue in cheek telling myself to shut up with the joke ramblings of memories. Apology accepted in advance.

My apology is sent with grace, I am sorry.
Not you're fault but mine due to personal problems. I'm a bit uptight.

As a moderator I have asked my colleagues to ban me as I called you an Asshole. It's not behaviour required of a Mod

As a moderator I have asked my colleagues to ban me as I called you an Asshole. It's not behaviour required of a Mod If you're having issues and you'd rather not be on the forum atm, we can ban you. But really, calling someone an arsehole is not really a ban-able offence, on its own, mod or not.

The size of that site with the Yoye End car park and the area where Tesco now stands could have housed a 50,000 all-seater with parking, bus terminals, and of course a mainline railway station a 5 minute walk away. I used the train every home game from Avonmouth. What a missed opportunity. "What a missed opportunity" isn't that tbe city's motto under the crest. That was one of my hopes with ALQ's coming in, that an outsider may shake things up a bit. True to form our Council could stop a speeding bullet in their bare teeth How is it the Council’s fault? They’ve granted us every planning permission we’ve ever asked for. The fault is ours and ours alone. We’ve never had the money to build a new stadium.

In my experience getting big projects completed in UK cities requires forward thinking local authorities working in partnership with private groups. You may have a different experience but I don't see any evidence of it in Bristol.
