So now all the major Pre season games are over and i would say most if not all our transfer business has been concluded, what is your gut feeling ( in my case and Nobby's large Gut) on how we are going to do this next season ?
Stay Up or Go Down ??
Well my large expanding Gut tells me we are going down with the squad as it is today
Unless we get some half decent creative midfield players in we are Doomed to another season of poor football as per last season
Sorry to say but that's how i feel at the moment
I will support GC and the team at every opportunity i can but sadly i only see poor football at the moment, but hope to be surprised

As much as I think a midfielder is needed I do also think there could be something in putting Nichols in an attacking midfielder role. We all say he doesn’t score enough but his creativeness at times is the best in the team in my opinion.
I think the new Barnsley lad is gonna be a brilliant signing too, you don’t have Chelsea’s youth set up on your cv for being rubbish and I think the fact that Barnsley didn’t want to sell must mean a lot.
Get off to a good start and I think we could surprise a few this year.

But you’ve been saying all summer this will be Nichols’ 20 goal season, surely we can’t go down with him and JCH banging them in?
I’m mixed, sometimes I get the feeling of struggling but other times I get the feeling of a decent season (top 10), so really I have no idea

No such thing as glass half full or glass half empty, just the wrong size glass.

With our current squad, we won't be going neither up nor down. GC has built what I feel is a solid but unspectacular L1 squad. Unless we bring in someone who is a bit more creative in midfield and probably an out and out winger then we aren't going to be playing brilliant football but we have enough quality as it is to get lower mid-table.

Stay up or go down? Are those the only 2 options? With our current squad, we won't be going neither up nor down. GC has built what I feel is a solid but unspectacular L1 squad. Staying up then.

Those are my thoughts mostly, but if Coughlan can get the best out of the players or even playing above themselves, who knows what could happen? I have us to finish around lower mid table, but let's not forget under Coughlan our results had about 8th in the form table overall.

Half empty for the fanbase

With our current squad I think we’ll finish between 13th and 18th.
If we added a couple more quality creative midfielders then I think we could push for a top half finish.

UTG It's a bit early to say he'll be a brilliant signing, he could be a decent player but little point in getting carried away given he hardly set Div 1 alight last season. The big worry is GC suggesting Bennett's going to be a key player this season, what's all that about, is he trying to boost his appeal in the transfer market or is now going to be our saviour? I fear it's going to be another season of just trying to grind out results and relying upon JCH or OC to come up with goals to nick wins, at least Sercs seems to have found his shooting boots in pre-season.

At the moment I think we will achieve a mid table finish, which for me would be a good season and I would be happy with this. GC seemed to get a lot out of the players last season and I’m hoping he will be able to do the same again. With JCH, Clarke, hopefully sercombe back to his best and hopefully getting a full season out of rodman I think there will be enough goals between them to achieve this. If one of the new loan signing forwards are able to chip in with double figures alongside JCH then a top half finish may be possible. IMO GC is starting to build his own squad of players and is only in his second transfer window as manager. It will take more than just two windows to really put together the squad he wants so I would happily take mid table this season

Personally, I feel more optimistic than at this stage last year. We have a proven L1 striker and enhanced our full back options. If Bennet stays and is coached to pass and move from midfield, and the new lad makes an impact...reasons to be cheerful. Would love to see a fully fit THD operating on the left side of midfield... So, optimistic, midtable and if it all comes together..top 10.

If we retain JCH top ten finish if we sell him bottom 6, think the team will be strong at the back but attacking wise as HG has mentioned could do with a creative midfielder.
Shirts look great looking forward to seeing all our new players.

I agree topper might be the excitable side of the season nearing haha.
I do think he will be a important player though.
Regarding the Bennett situation I can’t understand what’s going on there, he said yesterday at the open day that he’s unsure how long he will be with us but gc’s saying he’s gonna be a important player, i for one think he could be like a new signing if given a chance, seems like it would be a shame to have paid a fee for him, paid his wages for a couple of years and to not have anything in return.

UTG Im sorry but even making that suggestion about TN proves how sh** we are in that department. That fact we are going into a 3rd season "hoping" that Tom will turn good again one way or another is madness and a joke.Im a fan of GC and respect his work last season but our problems from last year was goals and we have not adressed that from a midfield standpoint. My gut is telling me that its going to be a long, and very, very boring season of football where we will struggle to stay up once again.

Whether we rate him or not, he’s at the club. Throughout his time here he has had a lot of stick which some regarding his goal scoring record is fair, but not once have I watched him and thought he isn’t playing for the badge or he couldn’t care anymore. Which says a lot about the lad.
Same with the Bennett situation, he is our player so the only positive thing to do is get behind him and hopefully as with all players it goes right for him.
I still think that he could be useful as an attacking midfielder just off the striker.
Saying that I would like to see someone come in, whether it be a wide player to let sercombe come inside or just someone to play in centre mid
